For Tasnim Ahmed and Jennifer Rzasa, starting a stamp company has been a dream in the brewing. The girls joined forces to launch Altenew; a small online based company located in the East Coast of the United States.

Altenew strives to bring you fresh, innovative and versatile designs. Their stamps are made from high quality clear photopolymer, and are manufactured in the USA.

I started this card by stamping the tree and the bicycle with a very light ink. I used Distress ink Antique Linen as it is one my lightest colors. Once the images are colored, the light outlines don’t show much, giving them a natural look. I used Copic markers for coloring. For the leaves on the tree, I simply dabbed the tip of the markers at random places to create a speckled look. For the bicycle, after it was colored with the same pink and gray markers, I used a 0.3 point black pen to draw the spokes of the wheels and the chain assembly.

I adhered a 1” wide gray card stock along the bottom of the card to mimic a pavement, and stamped the shadows with Versamark ink. To add a little sparkle, I adhered a thin strip of silver glitter card stock where the images and their shadows meet. The finished card is 3.5″ x 5.5″.

  1. I love the idea of city stamps and hope to see many more. The cool colors and the illusion of water with the vellum make for a stand-out card. Another idea I love is the shadow stamp. It gives this beautiful card an unexpected sense of depth. Thank you!

  2. Awesome techniques by Jen and tasnim thank you for the inspiration. I have been waiting to get selected in this wonderful month hope the last 8 days bring luck. Hope I win this time.

  3. Both cards are great and with entirely different looks. Love the vellum reflection on the first card and the shadows of the tree and bike on the second one. Clever.

  4. SUPER CUTE card Tasmin – LOVE your soft colors and pretty design, LOVE your COOL shadows and splash of sparkle too!!!
FABULOUS card Jennifer – LOVE your Sydney skyline with the Opera House and LOVE your AWESOME reflection – WOW – I LOVED your tutorial, such a CLEVER way to create your reflection and water!!!
THANK YOU for sharing your CREATIVE INSPIRATION ladies :)

  5. Love the shadows and reflections!! Simply gorgeous. Especially the Shadow Play card; the strip of glitter on the pavement gave it such a nice touch.

  6. Beautiful! I love that reflection, so smart to do it on vellum! These stamps are very cool, i would love to have the skyline of Amsterdam as well, there is a lot of water to do some reflection stamping… ;-)

  7. Very cool cards, I liked both, but the one Jennifer did was outstanding. The way she did the reflection was great. Thanks for the ideas.

  8. Wow! Two wonderful cards. I love the idea of stamping on vellum to make a reflection and that you actually stamped on both sides of the vellum!

  9. Wow! The Sydney skyline is amazing. Thanks for showcasing these different stamps…they really stand out from the crowd!!

  10. Two beautiful cards. I love that the new Altenew stamps come with shadow/reflection that coordinates with the main image. Awesome addition that adds dimension to a card! Way to showcase the stamps!
