Spreading Holiday Joy

Simon (1)

Hi readers! It’s getting close to that time of year where we all send out Holiday cards to our friends & family.  It’s so fun to receive lots of different kinds of cards, but sometimes when sitting down to MAKE the cards you’ll be sending out it can be a bit daunting! There are ways to make it easier!  The highlight of these cards is this lovely collaboration between Clearly Besotted & Simon Says Stamp!

I’m excited to share this fun design made by Stephanie Wincott with you today, along with some tips and tricks below on mass producing!

  • Keep it simple, the simpler the better

  • Keep embellishments to a minimum to keep shipping costs down – one layer cards are best

  • Easy way to add variety is by just changing the colour scheme, or by using a variety of sentiments

  • Have a conveyor belt type system in place – completing one element completely at a time (i.e. cutting card down to size, then stamping, then adding embellishments etc.)

  1. You’re cards are so pretty! Elegant and yet easy enough to produce a few of without going crazy!

  2. Once again, Stephanie, you dazzle and delight with a set of cards that are eye-catching and striking. Incredibly beautiful…

  3. when I’m making a number of the same card – I divide them into groups of 5 or 10.
When they are finished I can move on to the next group. That gives me an easily attainable goal and gives me a sense of accomplishment when that group is finished. I’m ready to start the next group. But – keep it simple

  4. Beautiful card. Thanks for the tips. I just bought this very stamp from SSS yesterday. Now I can’t wait til it gets here!

  5. Beautiful design. Amazing how different a card can look with a slight color change. Good way to use up the extra bits. I save all my scraps and try to use them when mass producing cards.

  6. This is a very nice collaborative set. It is nice to have some small variations when you make a number of the same card, as you’ve shown. It keeps it fun for the one making the cards! I really like the cord tied on each.

  7. Really pretty cards with just enough difference between them to avoid going cross-eyed with repetition. Thanks, Stephanie.

  8. Thanks for the tips! Such lovely cards, and I agree about minimizing postage, because postage can be the most expensive component of the card!

  9. It is difficult for me to keep it simple because I get bored. The most cards I have been able to do in an assembly line is 10. I’ll have to say that it IS fun making cards this way IF I do keep it simple. I have to pace myself. I stamp 10 of the same stamps and walk away. Later I go back and color the stamps and possibly cut out the pictures if needed. I then go away again and come back next time to do the next step. This of course is when I am crafting by myself and have household responsibilities. As well, I have a crafting area where I can keep out my supplies. Thanks for the inspiration. It makes me want to get in there and make assembly line cards to get ‘dr done. Ha
