Hi readers! Happy Tuesday to you! I’m always excited to see what bright and cheery ideas come from the our very talented crafty pal Laura Bassen! This month, she made a really cool multi-colored paper weaved card using the Simon exclusive Danish Hearts die set.

Quite a nice way to round out DieCember™, don’t you think? Enjoy!

  1. Laura is so fun to watch! I loved this card! I still remember when I first saw these dies I thought they were to make band aids for a get well card or to somehow make it work for valentines day. So glad I was wrong because this is such a unique heart die!

  2. I remember making these hearts with my daughter’s Girl Scout troop. If you put the flat end at a fold vs an edge, you can make pockets instead. Super cute- loved the bears’ voices!

  3. Laura, always love your cards and your videos are always entertaining. Happy New Year. Thanks for the inspirations!

  4. Oh I LOVE this card, it’s so fun and easy to make!!! What a clever idea!!
This die is very cool, I think that can help to make cards for any occasion
Thanks fo sharing and a very Happy New Year to all

  5. Oh I love this – I remember making the Danish hearts as little baskets for Easter or Valentine’s Day. What a fun idea to use them on a card :)

  6. It is fun to watch you distress in and weave your die cuts. You make it look so easy! I love y
our finished card. The die cuts for the wording are really cool too!

  7. Those hearts are so cool! I appreciate the card techniques because they give inspiration and challenge me. Have a safe and blessed New Year everyone!

  8. What a cool way to make hearts! Love the colourful card! Congrats to the candy winners! I recognize some of those names – way to go! Happy New Year to everyone at Simon Says Stamp!

  9. Cute, cute card! I’m glad I got to see this set in use. I was curious about it when I saw it in the release. Love the woven hearts! I remember making something similar as a child. What fun!

  10. Wow, that was really sweet. I didnt know how to use these dies, but, now I do. I agree it takes a
bit of patience weaving but what a pretty effect.

  11. Oh Happy Dance – I was a winner – I sent my email just a few minutes ago -thank you very much for the Grab Bag – this is a nifty tutorial video – I like the weaving on the card – adds a great texture and is very lovely! TFS – have a blessed week!

  12. I love the way you did all three sized and set them off the edge. FYI: If you think those are hard to weave, I remember doing them double so you had a little cup when you were done.

  13. This is terrific inspiration! I always appreciate a new way to use hearts. And the time honored weaving is a terrific one!

  14. Oh, these hearts bring out beautiful memories … We used to make A LOT of those when I was little. Great idea to use them on a card. And thank you for the trip down the memory lane. :)
    Hugs! xx
