One Layer WONDER: Send a Happy Little Love Note Card! Yippee for Yana
Hi friends! Please join me in welcoming the oh-so-talented and amazing Yana Smakula! (Please note; our dear friend Yana is Ukrainian, to show support to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, please see Yana’s post HERE.)
Hello, crafters, this is Yana Smakula for Simon Says Stamp! Welcome back for another Yippee For Yana video! In this video, I’m stamping a one-layer card using the Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Background stamp.
This stamp is brilliant! It is not a single stamp, but rather a grouping of individual stamps that make up this beautiful san ray design. And because all of these are separate this gives you options. You can stamp each section in a different color of ink, you don’t need to do any masking, it’s just that much easier to use.
Because I have all of these individual sections, I can easily stamp them in different ink colors. There are 12 sections, so I selected 12 different colors of ink. I used the Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks, they come in nice groupings of 3, so a light shade, a medium shade, and a dark shade of the same color and they have a very pretty, very fresh color palette.
I used Simon’s 130lb cardstock, this is my go-to paper, I love using it for anything stamp related, it is very thick and smooth, and it is just a dream to work with. It is a little bit on the expensive side, but so worth it.
I cut my panel to 4 1/4 x 5 ½ and placed it inside the MISTI. Next, I stamped the abstract sections one by one, stamping each in a different color of ink. I didn’t stamp the center section but added a circle sentiment there instead. It comes from the Just Because Word Mix 2 set from Simon, I stamped it in Earl ink from Simon.
I also added additional sentiments to this card using the Simple Sentiments 02 set from CZ. I stamped a different one onto each of the colorful sections.
I adhered this panel to the A2 side folding card base and added Aura sequins to embellish it.
Have fun stamping!
