One Die, Two Techniques!
Hi readers! Happy Sunday! Please join me in a big Simon welcome back to Teri Anderson! I just love seeing her clean and beautiful designs and today is of no exception! Read on and enjoy!
Hi, Simon friends!
I’m happy to be here again! Always fun to swing by! Technique Tuesday recently started producing products designed on the artwork of Cath Edvalson. Some of you night know Cath from her time as Trends editor at Paper Crafts magazine and when she wrote on the Moxie Fab World blog.Simon Says Stamp! is one of the first retailers to carry Cath’s products so I thought it’d be fun to share a couple cards made with one of my favorite Cath products, the Garden Leaves die. The die is based on some paper cutting Cath did.
I think it’s fun to create a stained glass look with the leaf.
Die-cut it a couple times from cardstock. Adhere it to a card and then use your markers to color in some of the openings. For a modern look, use bold colors like I did.
The die also comes with a mat.
So here I cut a couple mats from vellum. And then I added some leaves cut from white cardstock on top.
Here’s the tricky part: I flipped the leaves over and then used the same markers (the very same ones I used on the last card) and colored behind the leaves again.
If you try this at home, be sure to use bold colors. The vellum will mute the colors quite a bit. Finish the card off with a touch of sparkle!
Alright! Thanks for having me again today, Simon friends! Wishing you happiness in 2016!

Really like both of these in Teri’s unique style!
really beautiful cards!!
2 of my all-time favorite cards! Now those dies are on my wishlist–thanks for the inspiration!
Pretty CAS design! Thanks for sharing!
It is rather refreshing to see the bright colors used on these two cards. I did not see where you named the brand of markers you used. The Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers are very intense colors, and they have several neon colors, so this is looking like a project I would like to try. Thanks for sharing this technique.
These dies caught my eye! I loved the simplicity of the card.
Gorgeous ideas, love it!!!
Love these dies and the totally different feel you get from these cards.
Beautiful card. Love the die, color choices and sparkle.
Oh My! The leaf is so amazing…soft, elegant and versatile! Well done Cath! Adore the velum mat!
How different it looks when you change out the colors.
What a fun project! Thank you for the tutorial!
Thanks for the tips and techniques.
I love the diversity of the dies and the fact that they can be used anytime of year.
Cool to see the difference just by changing the color from black to white. I think I like the white outline more.
I was so impressed with the cards I ordered the die set as I was reading the email. Love this idea and especially the white card.
Sweet cards!
i am in love with this card and everything about it!
Very clever the way you got bold and pastel looks with the same markers. Great cards with very different feels – nice work Teri.
