On the Road Again!

Hello and Happy Monday!

We hope you all had an amazing and relaxing weekend, because we’re heading on a journey this week with the Monday challenge group. Whether it’s an actual journey in a car with family and friends to somewhere exciting and new, or a life journey that’s taking you to new places creatively, the word journey can mean so many things. We want to see what it means to you!

Below are three projects created by the design team. The rest can be found on the Monday Challenge team blog here and if you click on each designers name, you’ll be taken directly to their blog where you’ll get more details about their project! ;)

And don’t forget that when you enter your projects into the challenge, you have a chance to win a $50 gift voucherto Simon Says Stamp!

Emma had this to say:

I just adore Tim’s Vintage Globe die and as soon as I saw this challenge, I just knew that I wanted to incorporate it within my piece, and that’s exactly what I did when I made this card using a Size 12 Manila tag, inked with various colours of Distress Stains. I added plenty of layers to this piece, using stamps and also the Rays and Dot Fade Layering Stencils. Then, when that was done, I added even more layers by using various sized tags which I stamped. To complete the tag card, I added an Idea-Ology Pen Nib and a Corked Vial, crackled and inked with alcohol inks.

Designed by Mona:

Mona had this to say:

I can’t get enough of the gorgeous architecture that can be seen amongst the ancient ruins in Greece. I wanted to capture a vintage vibe when creating my layout so I added beautiful gold detail using Viva Decor’s Gold Beeswax Polish along with Ranger’s Espresso Color Wash. For a little contrast, I applied several Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs Words around the layout.

Designed by Andrea:

Andrea had this to say:

I think one of the reasons I appreciate fabric so much now is because it started out as my enemy. I totally bombed my junior high sewing class and thought that fabric was evil for over a decade. Now I adore fabric, even though I’ve never embraced it “traditionally.” Be that as it may, it’s always been therapeutic for me to look back at how my feelings for fabric have changed for the better. Here I’ve combined my fabric collage with gorgeous patterned paper from Memory Box’s Brioche paper pack and 7 Gypsies’ Maritime paper pack.

  1. Just got back from a short, tropical journey… :-) I’ll have to see what that inspires me to create! I love the colorful layers in Andrea’s, the nature images mixed into Mona’s and the treatment of the pen & vial in Emma’s creation!

  2. I love all the projects but Emma’s really spoke to me as I’m making a travel book for my daughter whom we took on her first cruise last year, for her 25th birthday. I have rheumatoid arthritis and most of my creations need to be die cut now as fussy cutting just isn’t in the cards for me any more. Thanks for sharing your projects designers!

  3. Sounds like a fun “Monday Challenge”. Great projects here and more from the rest of the team!!!

  4. The inspiration has just come while I was looking at these creations. I’m going to let it flow away in my scraproom.

  5. I absolutely love the vintage globe card. I made all my coworkers look at it and oooh and aaah over it with me! Inspirational!

  6. This is truly one of the most inspiring group of projects I have seen on this challenge blog and there have been many awesome ones. Maybe because I love Tim Holtz style projects but I loved the colors and the designs and the fabric and papers. Makes me want to practice practice practice…

  7. Love the variety of projects today. I especially appreciated the card, but scrapbook page and fabric collage were also lovely.
