Layton’s Legacy Card Drive & Fundraiser Blog Hop with Shari Carroll
Welcome everyone! We have a special blog hop today to bring attention to Layton’s Legacy; a card drive and fundraiser for NICI parents. These parents endure so much and through Layton’s Legacy, they will receive handmade cards from people like you and me along with gift cards for popular hot drinks.
I pulled my inspiration from the Layton’s Legacy logo above and the the mood board below. I used the Simon Says Stamp “From The Rooftops” Stamps and coordinating dies for my mountains to create a scene.
I white embossed them on Fog cardstock and used Kuretake watercolor paints to shade them a bit. I put together several die such as Painted Hello, Picture Book Sky for my clouds, and Moon and Stars to add some subtle stars to the background.

Love the card! You nailed the inspiration perfectly, the mixing and matching of stamps and dies was wonderful, so many great ideas!!
Awesome card for an a fantastic cause. I have a grandaughter who spent many weeks and days in hospitals over the years having titanium rib surgeries and finally halo before spinal fusion. She is now 16 and her mom appreciated every kindness extended to them throughout long hospital stays.

Layton’s Legacy is a fantastically creative idea that not only creates awareness, but raises funds for those in need as well! I can’t get over how stunning these cards are, and I wish I could make some myself, to donate and to send to friends! I would love to get my hands on digital technology that could be used to create such delicate cards! The mood board you have provided is inspiring!

This is such a great card Shari and for an even greater cause! I too had a preemie 35 yrs ago and still remember every agonizing second of it. We may have had a better outcome but I can remember every day of it and this IS a great cause!
