Hot Fun in the Summertime!
Hello and welcome to a new week here on the blog!
This week the Monday challenge group has a fun and unique challenge for us! They want us to create something inspired by the hot temperatures, the starry nights and the long days spent by the water. You can create whatever the summer means to you, so head to your craft room/space (hopefully it has air conditioning!!) and let’s see what inspires you!
Below are three projects created by the design team. The rest can be found on the Monday Challenge team blog here and if you click on each designers name, you’ll be taken directly to their blog where you’ll get more details about their project!
Don’t forget that when you enter your projects into the challenge, you have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to Simon Says Stamp!

I took this photo quite a few years ago and came across it when thinking of what to do for this challenge. I decided to extend the scenery in the photo with watercolours, not aiming to copy it completely. The layout was embellished with a stamped sentiment, two small seahorses, mini blueprint stamps and Linen Ribbon.

Is this my dream challenge week or what? I’m a complete literary nerd and I was thrilled to see a challenge come up that I could tie into the Great Bard himself. I decided to make a banner with the words of his epic Sonnet 29. I used everything but the kitchen sink on this banner, including the Mini Paint Lids stencil, and Paper Artsy stamps.
Designed by Emma:
Emma had this to say:
For me, there is nothing better than the beauty of a summer garden bursting to life with the wonderful colours of summer and for my project, I wanted to combine this, with the magic of Shakespeare’s play. I filled my wallhanging with bursts of colour using Tattered Florals die cuts, inked with Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks and added a Prima Resin Angel to a die cut Ornate frame, which I surrounded with Garden Greens die cut foliage.

I adore Anna-Karin’s layout. This sort of scrapbooking is truly art to me. To take a picture and continue that picture in some sense onto the rest of the page speaks of skill and talks to the heart where art is supposed to touch.
I love the challenges. I follow the blog by email.

Well it’s certainly hot here but I’m not sure how much fun it is. Maybe I should try and make something involving ice cream and lazy days sitting in the sun.
