Hi there! I’m so happy to be back on the Simon Says Stamp blog to share some inspiration with all of you! My card today features the die-cut inlay technique using the fabulous Hero Arts Palm Die.

To create the card I die cut the palm twice — once from white cardstock and once from kraft cardstock. Then I used the negative piece left from the kraft cardstock and adhered it to a piece of copy paper. (Be sure to save any little filler pieces that might need to placed in later!) Then I inked up the white palm with Peacock Feather Distress Ink and then spritzed it with some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. And then I inlaid the colored palm onto the kraft piece for a perfectly smooth finish.

I created a window with my craft knife for the gold heat embossed sentiment to show through. I just love the font mix on this sentiment…and the others in the set are pretty great, too! To finish off the card I added a gold glitter strip to the top of the card and a few more drops of Gold Color Shine.

A big thanks to Simon for having me today! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

  1. Awesome! I love this card. So clean looking–yet intricate and classy at the same time. Excellent!

  2. Love the inset die cut and the window for the sentiment. Did you use glitter paper for the strip of gold?

  3. Great technique and a perfect take on a clean and simple style. The card has a very clean feeling but there are so many interesting things happening without being fussy and overdone. I just love this one.

  4. I love how simple this card is, but looks so elegant! What a great card to give to a male or a female.

  5. I love the die-cut inlay on this card and the beautiful color combination. Kelly’s creation is gorgeous!

  6. Love the palm – reminds me of living in California.
The gold added just the right touch.
    Thank you for sharing!

  7. The shimmer on those leaves is gorgeous! I always like how the inlay die cutting looks so clean and interesting!
