Hello There
Hi readers! Happy April Fools’ Day! No tricks up our sleeves, just some great inspiration and design from our special guest designer Kelly Rasmussen! Featuring gorgeous inlay die-cutting, flecks of gold, glitter, & embossing… it’s hard to pick my favorite feature of this card! What is yours?
Enjoy!
Hi there! I’m so happy to be back on the Simon Says Stamp blog to share some inspiration with all of you! My card today features the die-cut inlay technique using the fabulous Hero Arts Palm Die.
To create the card I die cut the palm twice — once from white cardstock and once from kraft cardstock. Then I used the negative piece left from the kraft cardstock and adhered it to a piece of copy paper. (Be sure to save any little filler pieces that might need to placed in later!) Then I inked up the white palm with Peacock Feather Distress Ink and then spritzed it with some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine. And then I inlaid the colored palm onto the kraft piece for a perfectly smooth finish.
I created a window with my craft knife for the gold heat embossed sentiment to show through. I just love the font mix on this sentiment…and the others in the set are pretty great, too! To finish off the card I added a gold glitter strip to the top of the card and a few more drops of Gold Color Shine.
A big thanks to Simon for having me today! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
