Heartfelt Thanks

Hi bloggers! Happy Sunday to you!! I’m so pleased to have the amazing Debby Hughes as a guest on our blog today! She’s cooked up some great ideas on how to use amazing STAMPtember® exclusive dies & stamps!  Enjoy!

Hello :) Debby here with a little look at a couple of Simon’s new coordinating dies and stamps. Within the STAMPtember release there are 9 stamp sets which have at least one matching die! Sets like these make it so easy to create fabulous coordinating projects.

Here’s the card I made using the Really Big Thanks Set.

I love using the negatives of die cuts, so cut the Thanks die from a panel of Basic Grey Persimmon patterned paper and foam mounted it over another of the papers from the pack. The panel is wrapped with some lovely Hemptique twine and the stamped ‘heartfelt’ added. I die cut a piece of gorgeous leaf paper from the pad using the A2 Curved Edge die and mounted that onto my card base and then popped up the panel on top. The final touch was some die cut hearts :)

Using the Gift Card Envelope die I made a matching envelope to go with the card. The envelope is die cut from more of the leaf paper and a tag added using the Tags For You coordinating stamps and die set. The Tag Sayings Stamp set is packed with great sentiments and images but also come with some staples to dress up even the simplest of tags. The white heat embossed outline and subtle diagonal stripes stamped in Versamark create interest without detracting from the stamped and die cut sentiment. The Thanks die cut is actually the one left over from my card :) The envelope is kept closed and the tags attached with more of that lovely Hemptique twine – it has a gorgeous silver thread through it :)

It’s easy to slip the twine off to open the envelope. The patterned papers are single sided so I added a little more paper to the inside flap of the envelope to give that polished finishing touch. I hope you are enjoying the STAMPtember® extravaganza here on the Simon blog! Have fun :)

Thanks so much for reading today and thanks to Debby for providing such amazing inspiration!

  1. I am LOVING Stamptember and learning so much from each post. I really like the new word dies and how Debby used both the positive and negative from the die on different cards! Don’t you just love when a product does double duty? Thanks to SSS and to Debby for sharing with us today. Can’t wait to see what is next!

  2. Fabulous cards. Thank you so much Debbie. I love the reverse effect look with the thanks. I really like the curved edge look also.

  3. Debby, this is stunning. You have a way with tags, and I just love how you used the curved edge on the diagonal. Beautiful work!

  4. Good idea to use the negative and the positive of the die cut. Just cut out some words but hadn’t thought about using a bigger piece of paper and using both cuts in my cards. thanks for the idea.

  5. Love how you used the negative for the sentiment! Great idea! The paper is adorable and I love the placement of the hearts. I love how you did the tags and tied them around the card with the twine. Very nice! I really, really like the thanks and how it runs off the edges of the card. Very, very and very nicely done! Thanks for sharing!
