Faber-Castell Canvas: Creativity Takes Courage!
May Flaum here, and today I’m excited to share with you this fun little canvas full of Faber Castell products and fun!
First up, I prepped a burlap panel with whipped spackle and gesso. I needed a white solid surface to build upon. Then I used texture gems in pearl to draw my main flower.
That down, I added white buttons and my sticker element. Any buttons not white? Just add gesso coating! This is a great way to use ugly or weird colored buttons. Once this is dry, you’re ready to get colorful!
Apply gelatos directly, then use a waterbrush to blend the colors.
Want more opaque coverage? Mix a bit of gelato with gesso!
Once this layer is dry, let’s add contrast and more texture! First with the gold texture gems – love this so much!
Then Use a bold black pen for highlighting contrast and then with the clear (ice gel) gems add accents to the petals.
Need more? The big bold white pen is awesome for finishing touches!
This project is super quick and easy – the longest part? Waiting for all the lovely layers of color to dry. I hope you’ve enjoyed this project how-to, and that I’ve inspired you to use some of the wonderful color mediums that Faber-Castell offers.
