Easy Idea-ology Card by Cheiron Brandon

Hi friends! Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Please join me in welcoming back special guest Cheiron Brandon as a guest on our blog today! Read on and enjoy!

Hi there crafty friends! I am thrilled to be here today to give you a quick and easy idea for all those Idea-ology paper dolls in your stash. For this card, I created a fun floral background, and added a few of my favorite Idea-ology pieces to create a fun, simple card. This card would be great to make in multiples by switching out the colors of the background, Paper Dolls and sentiments.

To begin, I cut the Sizzix Bouquet die out of Distress Watercolor Cardstock. I placed the background into my Splat Box and misted it with water using the Distress Sprayer. Then I sprayed the entire die with Victorian Velvet Distress Spray Stain, and then Sprayed Wilted Violet Distress Spray Stain just into the centers of the flowers and dried the piece with a heat tool. Once it was dry, I adhered it to the card base using Distress Collage Medium.

I inked the edges of a Paper Doll with Black Soot Distress Ink and added it to the front of the card. Then I took a sentiment sticker from the Big Talk Snarky stickers and adhered it to the card using foam tape. To complete the card, I added a few of the gold colored Tim Holtz Idea-ology Metallic Droplets. I love how easy it is to create a card with just a few supplies and a bold mixed media background.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and thanks to Cheiron for being our guest!

  1. Love this so much and what a great way to use my beloved Paper Dolls. I admit that it is somehow difficult for me to get out my splat box and spray…..it is a mess and control issue I need to work on. Ha. Thanks, as always for this great inspiration!

  2. The background on this one was amazing. Your card speaks to me as like vintage and am vintage (72). Guess it’s time to get out all those sprays I have in my drawer and use them for something beautiful like you did. Thanks for the tips and techniques.
