Did You Know? Fun Facts and Crafty Tips! April 2019 Edition

Hello crafters!!! It’s Shari Carroll here bringing you the April 2019 edition of “Did You Know?”

If it’s your first time seeing this feature, each month we will be bringing you fun facts, creative tips and even crafty hacks about your favorite supplies and brands; you can then use these awesome tips that you learn in your next crafting projects! Are you ready to learn some fun tricks? Keep on reading!

This month, I’m all about storage and organizing. I think it might be part of my Spring cleaning ritual! I’ve grabbed some of the essentials that I use in my workspace. These are all easy identification items that will help save you time for more creating instead of wasting time digging around to find what you’re looking for.

BROTHER LABEL MAKER

I use storage shelves that have slots to store my inks. Although I love my shelves, It’s hard to see the label tops of my ink pads. To help me out, I use the Brother Label Maker to create a label to place on the base of each ink pad. I can quickly identify an ink color and off to creating I go! I label anything that needs it like clear storage pockets for my stamps and dies. Tip: There are different sizes of tape available!

STORAGE TIN BOXES

These tins are displayed in my workspace. They not only look nice, but I can see what’s inside through the transparent window. The ink alcohol and mini ink tins have a plastic liner with fitted areas for each color.  I keep my mini cube tins in a cute basket close to my work area for easy access.

TIERED COMPARTMENT ORAGNIZER

I just like looking at this tiered display shelf. The colors of the Nuvo drops are just so pretty! The bottles fit perfectly on each tier, and I’m able to organize them by color families. The tiered design allows me to see what’s behind even when stored on a shelf. Another quick grab item and storage idea!

TIM HOLTZ EMPTY STORAGE JARS

Finally, these clear storage jars. I have a lot of little trinkets, tokens, pins, and embellishments that need homes. I store the jars upside down in a clear box so when looking into the box, I can see what’s inside the jars. These also help me when cleaning up, I return the unused pieces right back into the jar when done.

We hope you have enjoyed this month’s installment of Did You Know?! Tune in again next month for a brand new edition of this fun series!

  1. I don’t have a Spring cleaning rituall but I am reorganising my craftspace. I had a big laugh when I saw your first picture Shari, I was just finished printing numberlabels with my label printer when I started to read this post.
Thank you so much for this great post, always love to read this series.

  2. Fabulous storage tips! I do like the tins, although haven’t broken down and purchased any yet. The alcohol ink tin is a must now.

  3. woohoo, lovely to meet a fellow organiser, things are so much easier to find and more likely to be used when they are on display and well organised, hugs kath xxx

  4. Thanks for the ideas. I love to be organized, but it’s hard because I keep buying more and more and more…

  5. Thanks for the great tips–I do have the tins for the inks-and I use them for all my small ink pads, also have the ones for the archival inks and the distress crayons–awesome products. Thanks for sharing your tips!

  6. I live in a small apartment and storage and organizing are always of my interest! Thanks for the tips. I definitely need label marker!

  7. I’m really enjoying (and learning from) these crafty tips. Organization is something I struggle with. I have the Brother label maker (but don’t use it often enough) and the Distress ink cube tins and can’t imaging how I’d ever find my inks without them!

  8. I trust your color combinations, I know you have loads more stuff than I do, I’ll trust your organizing advise too!! I already use the tins for my mini ink pads. Thanks for sharing these and I hope you have more…..

  9. I use my Brother labeler all the time. Couldn’t keep my craft area organized (at least somewhat organized) without it.

  10. Thanks for the tips. I really enjoy the monthly “Did you know”. I am working on getting myself organized. I think i need to purge some more items from my crafty space.

  11. Absolutely love this new collection!! So many great ideas!! I am new to your products and love them all!!!!

  12. These look like some awesome products! I actually just got a label maker a month of so ago and I am having a blast labeling all my clear stamp sets! When I finish that, I will label my ink pads as well.
