Creating an Envelope Scene – Monthly Mail Art with Kristina Werner, December 2018

Hello all! Kristina Werner here. :) I’m back with another installment of Monthly Mail Art! For this month’s envelope, I used an itty bitty stamp set from Lawn Fawn, Oh What Fun!

First, I stamped the sledding bear in black ink on an Audrey Blue envelope. I drew a slope for him to be sledding on in black ink as well. I then colored the bear and the snowy ground using Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils.

To create a more dramatic sky, I blended Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink from the top of the envelope (and a bit from the bottom as well).

I wrote the recipient’s address in white gel pen, and added falling snow (or stars!).

NOTE: Address using with permission. Thanks, Kelly!

I finished off the envelope by adding postage stamps and my return address on the flap of the envelope.

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

  1. Start working on the cards this
    weekend. Have to remember
to jazz up the envelopes too.
    thanks for the idea.

  2. Oh my gosh, this is so cute. And the recipient will know that something special is inside right away!! Too adorable.

  3. I like how you used several different fonts, several different postage stamps, and white ink. This would have to be for a very special friend because it is great!

  4. Oh Kristina, you are making me feel very inept…LOL (Just kidding), I really can think outside of the box….once in a great while! However, this is just way too cute, lucky Kelly.
Thanks for sharing your amazing ideas with us, we are all learning but you have a way of ‘forcing us’ to really think outside our creative box and I love that!

  5. I just love your handwriting and the beautiful scene you created. And my few stamps sets that have your script on them are treasured.

  6. Again an awesome envelope, everytime I use an envelope I think of you Kristina and what you would make of it. I think I am going to make some in advance, so I always have a lovely envelope to send with my card. Thank you so much for sharing all these great envelopes.

  7. Awww!!! Your envelope is totally cute! This scene is really fun and your colouring simply amazing!!! Love it!!!
