Color Coordinates with Shari Carroll:Using Embossing Powders
Welcome everyone! It’s Shari Carroll here with a new Color Coordinate recipe for you. I’ve decided to try something new and add embossing powders to the mix of color.
I started out with a panel of Soft Navy cardstock and stamped the Outline Snowflake Background with Simon Says Stamp clear ink. I used Steel Navy embossing powder and heat set with my heat tool.
I die cut the snowflake tag and snowflakes from Neenah white cardstock. I colored the tag using Simon Says Stamp Magnolia ink with a blending tool concentrating the color towards the bottom of the tag. I tapped Simon Says Stamp Clear ink onto the snowflakes with a blending tool and covered with Silver, Antique Gold and Steel Blue embossing powders, then heat set.
Once I had all my pieces completed, I arranged them onto the panel, adhered them in place and finished off with a small message and some gems.
If you are interested in printing out the Color Coordinates and creating a swatch book, I have the downloadable templates available below.

This is my favorite color combo so far! What a beautiful card and I will be creating my version of this. I love the steel navy embossing powder and it’s one of my favorites because of the sheen. Mine came in a SSS monthly kit and I have used it so much! Thanks once again for the inspiration! :)

Ooh! Lovely color palette; will definitely use this for some inspiration. Thanks for sharing!
How very pretty! The blue ep looks marvelous and is a color I don’t have. ‘Peace’ is my favorite word; love this!
Because we live in a no-snow zone, I never think about snowflakes, but I should! They are beautiful. You and Kristina used a similar color pallet for your snowy cards, and they are both lovely! WTG!
Beautiful color combination! Pretty card also!
Absolutely love this project, Shari–stunningly gorgeous color combo!
I love your card and these beautiful SSS embossing powders! I’ve never thought to use a blending tool to put clear ink on a die cut. Thanks for the tip!
