Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! It’s Shari Carroll here with a card using the What’s Brewing stamp set from Simon Says Stamp! This is an open hop so please feel free to link up your creation HERE for a chance to win some great prizes!
I stamped my coffee cup onto a woodgrain paper, thought it would give me an interesting look.. and I love it! Most of the card is grey tones but I used Burnt Orange ink and card stock for a warm punch of color.
I’ve also used my brown and grey color pencils to color in the coffee and add some shading to the cup. For a finishing touch, I added a bit of Glossy accents over the coffee area. I’ve shot a video of the whole process, I hope you enjoy!
Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy the hop!

What a fantastic card! I love the way you colored the coffee cup and created all the other elements for the card. Great inspiration!! Thanks for making the video and sharing your talent!
Love your card! I actually used some of your technique to create mine. I used my Copic markers to shade the patterned paper. Thanks so much for teaching, I enjoy your videos so very much!
Shari,
I love the wood gran effect. Will have to try it!
Enjoyed watching this tutorial –good demonstration of using the Gamsol with colored pencils. And this stamp set is a bit unusual and super nice for combing the cup with the plants (like the design for where the two meet).
This card is fabulous beyond words!!!! I absolutely LOVE that woodgrain cup and I LOVE how you added just enough white to the coffee to make it look so real. You are just AMAZING!!!!
Awesome cup, especially with that ‘real coffee’ in there! Thanks for the inspiration Shari.
