Caring Hearts Blog Hop!

The holidays are just around the corner, filled with opportunities to celebrate with family and friends. But during this special season, many of the elderly who live in nursing homes may be alone and missing their families. Wouldn’t it be awesome to bring smiles to their faces and brighten their holidays? That’s what the Caring Hearts Card Drive is all about! This wonderful card drive was started by Vera Yates and Jennifer McGuire and is in its 5th year of collecting holiday cards to send to the elderly in nursing homes. Please join us in spreading cheer this holiday season with the Caring Hearts Card DriveClick Here for all the details, including what to send and where to send it. Note: All cards must be received by November 28, 2014. For more details, please head to the blogs of Vera Yates or Jennifer McGuire.

For this amazing card drive and blog hop, I’ve created a holiday card that includes a “Shaker” element. I thought it was another fun way to use the Bundle of Stitches dies along with the Line Shape Dies.

The combination of  Coral Reef ink and Seal Glass card stock together makes for one of my favorite soft color combos!

I’ve shot a quick video on how I made my card. Enjoy!

  1. What a fun card. I have not tried shakers, but I think I am going to have to give in. Thanks for the inspiration.

  2. I love this shaker tree. I think this will be a card I would like to try even if I don’t have a tree die.

  3. Such a very worthwhile cause! Am glad to see so many people helping out. This card is just lovely, the colors combined with the “snow” background make it look so peaceful!

  4. Great idea for a shaker card! I like the tree shape instead of a snow globe or window scene.

This card drive is so awesome and definitely a great cause. I will be contributing!
