Bridal Designs with Prima
Hi there! I hope you all had a great weekend! I’m back with some fun bridal inspiration from Prima designer Sharon Laakkonen! She was inspired to make these great projects for her daughter who recently got married! Read on below to find out her tips & tricks on how she made these, and for a sneak peek at new Prima products to come to Simon Says Stamp!
I created this paper bride and mini-album for my lovely daughter, Brittany, who just got married last August! I thought it would be extra fun to choose colors from her wedding for the accents! Her dress was absolutely gorgeous and filled with lots of white flowers. Instead of duplicating it I created a layered dress over the stamped bride and then added huge roses for some extra pizzazz. This book will be a perfect place for Brittany to scrapbook her wedding photos!
Bride:
Step 1: Stamp bride several times on Ledger paper as shown. Cut out full bridal stamp once (Piece 1). Cut head, arms, and bodice out a second time (piece 2.)Step 2: Stamp bride on colored paper (Free Spirit) for clothing pieces. Cut tiara and bridal top out. (Pieces 3 & 4.)Step 3: Cover bridal skirt (Piece 1) up to the waist multiple times with white cheesecloth creating staggering layers. Wrap ends around to the back of the cardstock and adhere.Step 4. Color bride’s skin and hair with colored pencils. (Piece 2.)Step 5. Adhere pieces 3 and 4 (colored pieces) to piece 2 (bride’s head, etc).Step 6. Adhere piece 2 on top of full bride piece 1.Step 7. Decorate your bride with flowers, crystals and anything else your heart desires!
House:1. Cover a Julie Nutting Doll house album with your choice of papers. I chose papers that matched my daughter’s wedding colors. Tip: If you want to tie the book shut insert ribbons between paper and chipboard with a strong adhesive!2. Add half of a 6 inch doily to the bottom as shown.2. Add the chipboard windows and doors (cover with patterned paper if desired) to the front of the home. Edge with burlap trim.3. Pop a cute “Something Blue” flair button on the doorknob!
