Art Journaling with Shari Carroll: 2021 Send Help!
Welcome everyone! It’s Shari here with an art journal page inspired by Tim Holtz Snarky Cats and the thought that 2021 could send some help!!
I’ve been wanting to play with the Snarky cats with the mountains for sometime and thought this was a great way to end the year for my art journal feature.
My cat appears to be taking flight from the mountain tops with an undetermined look on his face as I’m sure most of us feel we’re “out of control” of our lives for this year 2020. But have no fear… a sparkly new 2021 is almost here!
I’ve used Ranger Specialty stamping paper for the background, it allows the inks to slide across the surface for easy blending. I’ve stamped the cat onto the background and also onto a separate piece of cardstock to color and mount on top. This way, I preserve all the hairs and small details.
I’ve filmed the process for you in the video below. ENJOY!!!
I love your art journals. Between you and Vicki P (don’t ask me spell her name. The lady from Greece.) I am going to do some art journaling in 2021. I like the idea of making a theme that pleases me and what I want to play with instead of trying to make something for someone else. I will still be doing that of course. My kids and grandkids look forward to my cards. But next year I will be concentrating more on my art and some art journaling. Thank you!!
This is so cute! Love to watch your creativity! Thanks for starting my day off with a smile. I may be smiling less as the day deteriorates with snow, sleet, freezing rain and high winds…all of which are forecast for us! LOL
We definitely need help to get to where we need to be. I won’t get political (you have no idea how hard it is for me NOT to mention politics!!!), but we need to PRAY for God to bring fraud to light, and bring in honest judges. Whoopsie daisy, I guess I did bring in politics a tiny, itty bitty bit. Well, not really. You don’t know where I stand :)
Absolutely fantastic ! This should be on the cover of diaries for 2021. What don’t do very much art journaling at all but watching you & Vicky this year has really sparked my intetest. Have a fabulous Christmas & a good start to 2021 x
