Autumn Thanks!

Hi everyone…Happy Monday! It’s Shari here with a card inspiration using some Ranger products.

I went off the rails and tried something completely different. I used several layers of painted tissue papers to build up an interesting background.

This technique is very easy to do and a great way to learn to use the Gelli Plate. I found it really relaxing. It all starts off with some Dina Wakley paints, Tim Holtz Layering stencils, and tissue paper.

I could see myself creating an art journal page like this too! I’ve shot a video of the process, hope you find it easy to follow.

  1. I’ve always been afraid of gelli plates. But after watching your video, I think I might get one after all! You make it look so easy & made such a gorgeous card! Thanks for sharing!!!

  2. I never thought of using tissue papers & paint as a background on a card. I do that techique on canvas and journaling pages but never tried it on a card. I know what I am doing tonight after everyone goes to bed and I have my own time to create something new!!

  3. WOW – FUN & FABULOUS technique & card Shari!!!
THANK YOU for sharing your tutorial – I confess that I have been interesting in trying Gelli Plates and not tried working with tissue paper, NOW I feel TOTALLY INSPIRED and look forward to giving it a try :)
