Art Journaling with Therm O Web Deco Foils
I’m getting my “Shine On” in my art journal today. I’ve played around with the Simon Says Stamp Modern Flowers dies and Therm O Web’s Deco Foils to create a centered arrangement. The black pages of the Dylusions Creative Journal really make the foils pop!
I love using my journal to remind me of techniques to use on my cards. This is definitely a technique I’ll try again. Something quick, easy, and dramatic!
I pressed Stick It Adhesive paper onto some black cardstock, then die cut my pieces. I used 1″ Post It tape to create a guide around the edges of the page. Using my Simon Says Stamp Craft Tacky Glue, I adhered the pieces in place. Once the glue was dry, I removed the Stick It paper from the flowers and added the foils.
With this design, I have plenty of room to add my personal journaling around the edges. Imagine the possibilities by using your dies with foils to create your own dramatic effects! Enjoy!

I’ll bet this card is absolutely beautiful in real life. It’s so hard to capture shine and sparkle in a photo or video some times. Really pretty!

Thank you so much Shari for demonstrating a foiling technique that doesn’t require a foiling machine. I love the look of foiling, but I can’t justify the expense of a machine. However, I DO have StickIt! I’ve be giving this a try soon. Your journal page is absolutely stunning.
The colors really pop off the black.
I need to do the foiling more often.

So pretty…may have to take up foiling!
So pretty! I’ve been resisting jumping into foiling, but I think it’s time to give it a try. :)
Bright and sparkly on that black background! I was surprised that the die cuts were adhered to the background first and foiled after.
That looks so awesome. I want to try foil.
