Art Journaling with Shari: Send Wine
Welcome, everyone! Happy August!! I’m here with an art journal feature where I’m working in the Dina Wakley white 6×6 journal. The pages in this journal are all super heavy-duty watercolor sheets that can hold up to every technique you can think of.
I’ve created the page using Distress Oxides inks by applying them with a piece of acetate using the smooshing technique.
We all have those days where things just don’t seem to go right and I want to make sure to document them along with my good days. The CZ Design Send Wine dies with the Send Wine and Hugs sentiment strips seemed fitting to use for this page to bring in some humor.
I created the background using colors found in wines like Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, and Peeled Paint. Notice that I colored the word “Wine” at a slope to suggest wine pouring from a bottle.
I’ve filmed the process in the video below, I hope you enjoy!

This was awesome. LOVE the colors and techniques you used. You are so talented…
One question… what did you use the white pen on? I didn’t see you use it in the video but it’s listed as one of the supplies used.
thanks!
Hi Debbie! The white pen is for journaling. I hope that helps!!
Glad you pointed out the coloring of the word “wine,” so clever! Love the colors on the cover??

Wow, your ink smooshing blew me away. Such pretty colors and so uniform. That was a great journal page and made me snicker! Thank you.
