Art Journaling with Shari Carroll: Foiling with Transfer Paste
Welcome everyone and happy Sunday!!
I’ve been playing in my small Dylusions flip journal trying out some foiling. I used the DecoFoil Transfer paste with the Bouquet of Roses stencil. Once the paste was completely dry, I covered it with a beautiful champagne colored heat activated foil from Couture Creations.
With the foil in place, I covered the page with parchment paper and ran it through the Heidi Swapp Minc Foil Applicator machine. The sheen is gorgeous sitting alongside the copper foil from the decorative tape from Prima.
To see how this all came together, check out the video below!! Enjoy!!

This is such a fun journal page! I love the foiled look you got with the stencil and transfer gel. :)
So glad there was a video detailing the creation of this journal page. I don’t have all the equipment to make it, but that Go Press and Foil Machine is pretty impressive. Is Transfer Gel the same as Embossing Paste? I am always intrigued by how Mixed Media is created using materials you do not expect. Awesome piece!!
Gorgeous! Love the message, guess I’m done adulting for today.
I love the mixed media journal you created! I have to try this!
Wonderful mixed media journal page! Great video….

This is so lovely! The foil and paste are new things to me so it was great to learn something different.
Just beautiful! With a little gel, a little paper, some foil, tape, glue and some watercolor, (and lots of talent) there’s no end to what Shari can create.
What great texture! Fabulous work!
So special with the foiling.
Shari makes the prettiest art pieces. I already follow by email.
It looks beautiful! Champagne gold is probably my favourite metallic colour. :)
So so pretty – love that final layer of gold
Thank you Shari! I learned so many new techniques from your video.
