Art Journal Feature You Hold My Heart

Hi everyone! It’s Shari here with an art journal page. Before I get started, my first order of business today is to wish all the men folk out there a Happy Father’s Day!

I’ve created a super fun page today… more animated than I usually do. Take a peek. Bright and cheery right?

I’ve used my Dylusions Small Journal since my page is basically flat.  I had a blast with this one, building layers or papers… then adding in shading with Faber Castell Big Brush markers. I found my inspiration on Pinterest, but unfortunately I can’t find the person who created it to give them credit.

I used my stash of papers to create the trees, hills and background. Then I set a couple birds and a hand cut heart in the trees. I finished everything off with some slight doodling with a fine pen around the trees and hills to give them some definition.

I’ve shot a full process video for you, and as usual had to speed it up to fit it in the time allowed. Enjoy!

I have used papers from my stash but have listed several for you below that would work great for this project. Hope you have a great day!

  1. This is super cute!! I really am amazed at watching these projects transform from something that looks good to something that is extra special!! Great job!

  2. More and more I look forward to seeing your Art Journal videos. So creative and informative. I’ve learned a lot watching you put together these amazing pages.

  3. I love this page. The patchwork piecing looks beautiful with all the patterns and yet it’s not at all too busy.

  4. Loved watching all this come together. Fantastic journal page and I love those little birdies in the trees! This is so creative, so clever, and so much fun.

  5. Shari: Fabulous project. It would be such a nice inspiration for a card as well. Looking forward to watching yet another wonderful video with a nice cup of iced tea. Cheers!
