  1. As always, great cards Laura. I love them both but the monkey really steals my heart too. I had an aunt who had a monkey as a pet when I was little. It was the greatest thing to go visit her and the monkey. He lived in a spare bathroom and she put a huge tree branch in the tub for him to climb! Oh the memories. Thanks for sharing your cards and your memories.

  2. Come visit me in South Africa Laura. We have monkeys entertain us in our garden on most days. Love them too but they are very clever and very naughty.

  3. Laura–those monkeys are adorable. The circles die is a great way to illustrate monkey antics. Your second card also shows the versatility of this die to create a collection of related images for a themed card. tfs your creativity.

  4. A great way to start a Saturday morning is by watching a video with Laura Bassen. I think these cards are great and cute and the video was a lot of fun. Your coloring with the copics is educational.

  5. Those monkeys are too cute and they look wonderful with your plaid BG. Love the understated colors you used on the second card.

  6. Ever since the picture book monkey die was released, I’ve been expecting a monkey card (or several) ? because your love of monkeys is legendary. That repeating circles die is on my wish list.

  7. Laura, I haven’t heard your monkey story before! HOW FUNNY! When I was younger, my little brother wanted a monkey, so my mother got him a stuffed monkey! LOL (Less mess!) Your cards are ADORABLE!!!! And yes, I agree with you on the Lawn Fawn Plaid! BEAUTIFUL & PERFECT for your SPECIAL MONKEYS! ;)

  8. I think this design is so cute.
So many options for filling in
    the circles. Thanks for sharing

  9. I love your cards and I love your stories :D. I also have a really hard time using my LF plaid paper. The struggle is real ;)

  10. Lovely cards and adorable story ! Yes, I believe you when you say that you had a connection with this monkey. I would have loved to meet him or her. Can you guess which card of your two cards I prefer ???

As for convincing your husband, I live with 3 cats and 2 dogs and it doesn’t give so much work, much less that having 1 single boy at home – LOL ! The best argument would be, I think, that a dog agree always with his “master” (I hate this word, I call myself the 2-paws of my furry friends).
