Advent Calendar Extravaganza with Taheerah Atchia
Welcome to the blog everyone! Today we are part of Taheerah Atchias Advent Calendar Extravaganza! This is 25 days of inspiration with fabulous prizes along the way.
I have created two holiday cards for today, both using non traditional colors and non holiday stamps as part of my greeting. I’ve gold embossed the Simon Says Stamp Kaleidoscope background onto watercolor cardstock and painted with Daniel Smith watercolors. My first card features pinks and a hint of orange.
The painting technique I’ve used is wet on wet which allows the paints to flow into the recessed areas of the embossing.
I’ve used blues and teals for my second card and painted with the same wet on wet technique. I love how the colors flow together and create new mixtures.
I die cut the new Felicity Snowflake from white cardstock and glued it in place onto the painted panels. I’ve stamped “Happy” onto Desert Storm cardstock and gold embossed, the stamped a strip of white cardstock with Christmas to sit over top.
I have filmed a video of how these two cards came together. You can view it below or on our YouTube channel HERE.

Beautiful cards and lovely backgrounds with non-traditional colors. I have to say these snowflake dies are my favorite from Diecember. Great way to participate in this blog!
Stunning backgrounds for the gorgeous snowflakes! Swooning over the non-traditional colours that are still wonderfully festive! Thank you for being part of Taheerah’s Advent Extravganza!

Absolutely love both cards – I agree with you the Happy Christmas does make a difference. I have been trying to get the stamp set stained glass greeting ever since it came out – whenever I’m ready to order something it seems to be out – it just happens to be my luck. Maybe after Christmas I’ll be lucky.
I usually like Christmas done in Christmas colors. However, these cards look beautiful. Can’t focus on the colors.
