As a lover of all things crafty, I often collect different products and then forget to use them! It has been a goal of mine to rediscover those products, so I decided to experiment with my alcohol inks. They are so much fun to play with, and I have found that you can really do no wrong with them — my kind of product! :-)

I combined my alcohol ink background with my very favorite STAMPtember® product — the Big Hello die. When they say BIG they mean it!  This die is HUGE and works perfect for the focal point for a couple of quick and easy cards. For the first card, I die cut the Hello five times using white cardstock. I glued them all together to create a very thick, dimensional hello. I added the pink alcohol ink Hello on top of that and popped it on to a white card base. Very quick and easy, but still packs a lot of punch.

I couldn’t bring myself to waste that pretty inked background, so I decided to create a card out of the negative of the die cut. For all the details and to see those awesome inks in action, check out the start to finish video I created!

  1. Alcohol inks are so much fun to use and I love how you made the ‘hello’ so dimensional on your first card – thanks for sharing !

  2. Just gorgeous, Jess. I’ve tried using the negative for a 2nd card& the hardest part for me is cutting straight in the 1st place. Your video was great.

  3. Love these two cards!! Great results with your alcohol ink background! I love this new die as well, definitely on my wishlist! Thanks for sharing.

  4. Two really awesome cards, and such a great idea to use both parts this way and it looks really cool with this alcohol inked paper. Think I´ll have to give this a try soon.

  5. very cool, I love alcohol – in this form:-)Thank you for revisiting an old technique!
Wish Simon says would make this die in European too, Hallo. Would be right for Germans and all us Scandinavians, plus quite a few other languages. The French could just cut the h away and get allo. Please SSS!
