2 Cards with One Die!

Hi bloggers! Happy Monday afternoon to you! I’m always so happy to share with you something else lovely that the fantastic Jess Larsen has made for us to share on our blog with you! Today for her special STAMPtember® feature she shows us how to make 2 gorgeous cards with one die! If you all are anything like me, you appreciate a good value & a gorgeous result!

As a lover of all things crafty, I often collect different products and then forget to use them! It has been a goal of mine to rediscover those products, so I decided to experiment with my alcohol inks. They are so much fun to play with, and I have found that you can really do no wrong with them — my kind of product! :-)

I combined my alcohol ink background with my very favorite STAMPtember® product — the Big Hello die. When they say BIG they mean it!  This die is HUGE and works perfect for the focal point for a couple of quick and easy cards. For the first card, I die cut the Hello five times using white cardstock. I glued them all together to create a very thick, dimensional hello. I added the pink alcohol ink Hello on top of that and popped it on to a white card base. Very quick and easy, but still packs a lot of punch.

I couldn’t bring myself to waste that pretty inked background, so I decided to create a card out of the negative of the die cut. For all the details and to see those awesome inks in action, check out the start to finish video I created!

Thanks for reading today and thanks so much to Jess for being a great guest!

  1. Great idea to not waste the negative part of the die. And I love the technique of creating a sturdier and thicker “hello”! I think I need to move my alcohol inks out and use them as well.

  2. Beautiful cards and simple to make! The alcohol inks look great and the idea of multiple die cuts glued together to add dimension is GREAT!!!… Thank you for sharing!

  3. Just love that Big Hello die. Jess’s cards are gorgeous as always. Haven’t played with my alcohol inks in quite some time. Will have to bring them out of my stash and play. Thanks Jess. Love those colors you used too.

  4. It’s so cool that we can make own chipboard out of die cut. I’m glad she used negative parts as well because color was so pretty. Thanks for sharing.

  5. Super Cards! Jess’s videos are always so fun to watch and I just love what she creates! Thanks so much for the inspiration with that FABULOUS die! Going to try this technique out for sure!

  6. I absolutely LOVE what you did with this card, Jess! It seems so simple, but it catches your attention right away with that big, beautiful “HELLO”!!!! And I’m sooooo just like you – I have so many products that I’m constantly forgetting I even have them – new things come, and I forget all about the old classics! Thanks for sharing this!

  7. 2 Great cards! Thanks for the tutorial. I’m loving all the new dies! This technique with the alcohol inks looks like so much fun to play with.
