Simon Says: Distress It

newchallenge

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Red White Blue Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week we are challenging you to

Distress It

There are many ways to distress and age a project, from inking and sanding to scraping along the edges with a paper distresser or a sharp pair of scissors. We will be looking forward to seeing how you distress your creation!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

Beulah Bee  gave a brand-new paint brush a vintage-vibe using Distress stains, Design Tape and embossing powders.

Andrea used paint and stencils to add a distressed feel to her card.  The fabulous sentiment is a stamp from Riley and Company called  “No One is You” and the fishtail shapes are from a die set by My Favorite Things called Stitched Fishtail Frames.

Anna-Karin loves to distress and on this tag she distressed lots of Tim Holtz dea-ology ephemera pieces and created a textured distressed background using stamps, Opaque Crackle Paste and ink.

Barbara loves so much to distress all your works! This week she created a distressed tag with Tim Holtz’s stencils,  Ranger Texture paste  , Distress oxide, Paper Dolls and a lot of  rusty gears!

Cathie used the Tammy Tutterow Designs Posie Parts and the Shabby Posies die sets to create her flowers along with Fossilized Amber and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks to create the soft colors. The beautiful sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Sentiments stamp set.

Emma loves using all of her Tim Holtz Distress products and for this tag all about ocean life, she combined Distress Paints and Distress Crayons to create the background on an Etcetera Tag. She also used Distress Marker Pens to colour the octopus from the Sea Life stamp set.

Kath used Tim Holtz Memoranda Paper Stash, Idea-ology Collector and Botanical Layers, Snippets and a Quote Chip and had great fun distressing all the edges to create a Vintage Collage Card

Lols used a selection of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks to create a background and used a Darkroom Door Arty Circles and Robin Cling Stamps to make this distressed birthday card.

Macarena made a distressed golden card using Mosaic stencil and Ground Espresso Distress Ink with Opal Magic Violet – Gold Paint. The focal point is a Paper Doll in the Ornate Frame #2 and Botanical buutterflies

Maura reached right for her Distress Oxide inks in worn lipstick, spiced marmalade, and cracked pistachio along with Carabelle Studios Les Roses de la Vie set by BIrgit Koopsen to work in a new art journal.

Meihsia loves to distress her creations for the vintage effect. On this tag, she distressed the edges of the tag with Tim Hotlz Tonic Paper Distresser and Ranger Ink Blending Tool.

Sandra had so much fun distressing and grunging up this card, using Distress Oxides and Distress Inks creating the background with Gearhead and Gadget Gears 2 for the foreground

Zoey used the old way to age paper…fire! She also used distress oxide and distress ink to add color to this art journal page

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start distressing! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
