Challenge: Falling in love with…

Fall is here and I’m loving the cooling temperatures, seasonal treats, and leaves changing color I’m inspired to do some seasonal crafting! What colors, textures, and products are you inspired to craft with this fall?

Andrea has fallen in love with several new recently released crafty products.

When I saw the Tim Holtz Alphanumeric die set, it was love at first sight. I couldn’t wait to try it and finally got my chance when I made this card. I also incorporated my new favorite paper collection: the Nest by Webster’s Pages. And being the book nerd that I am, I loved the chance to throw in a library card pocket, too.

Mona was inspired to create a Fall themed layout featuring a rusty / patina color palette.

I scrapped a photo of my daughters that was taken over 10 years ago as the prepared to carve their pumpkin. My goal was to create an autumn vibe using a rusty / patina color palette by combining Broken China and Rusty Hinge Distress Paints along with Vintage Photo Distress Stain. I embellished with Tattered Leaves and Tattered Florals.

Michelle was inspired by a sentiment.

I adore the sentiment in this clear stamp set by Impression Obsession and wanted to make it the focus of this Autumn card. Watercolor backgrounds are sweetly romantic, so this new set of pigment Watercolors by Zig Kuretake Gansai was the perfect medium choice.

Anna-Karin loves the vibrant colours of fall and made a card.

I love the new Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Leaves & Scribbles set, with which you can stamp wonderful layered leaves. The leaves were stamped with Ranger Archival Inks on Specialty Stamping paper. For the background, I gold embossed the Leaf Background stamp and misted with Copper Perfect Pearls, for the special shine of a clear autumn day.

Suzz loves fall and the beautiful leaves that decorate the trees with their mix of warm colors.

We have a tree planted the year we moved into our house that we called my son’s tree. Every year we take the first day of school photo in front of the tree. Two year’s ago the tree had a few acorns and this year we have had a big harvest of acorns with many squirrels visiting. They acorns inspired me to make a leafy decoration topped with a few acorn toppers. I die cut plenty of leaves using the Tattered Leaves Bigz Leaves and the Tattered Mini Leaves. I sprayed them with the new Ranger Distress Inks sprays.

Sandra Mouwen loves the beautiful colors of changing leaves in autumn

I sure love the warm colors of autumn, but I don’t like the weather that goes with it. For this card I chose for the autumn color palette and started with the Simon Says Stamp Blocked Circles stencil and blended Barn Door and Mustard Seed Distress Ink to get some orange too. Since it’s October now, I had to use some October afternoon washi tape!

Ashli was inspired by a new embossing folder this week…

A fabulous Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folder just landed on my desk and I couldn’t resist pairing the soft floral texture with some Die Cut Leaves. A finishing touch of Watercolor makes the leaves really pop while all of those Gold Rub-Ons provide the perfect contrast for my layout!

Meihsia always loves Halloween and she was inspired to create a Halloween tag for this Fall.

My children and I love trick or treating on Halloween in Fall. The background of this tag I created was embossed with Tim Holtz Embossing Folder and distresse with Distress Paints. After stamping the black cat image with Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps Mini Blueprints and Memento Ink Pad Tuxedo Black, I covered it with Crackle Accents and framed it with Tim Holtz Frames and Trims Stickers .

I (May) am in love with the idea of finishing my Christmas list early.

The idea of having December to relax and soak up the sights and sounds of the season without any deadlines or to-do lists is oh so intoxicating! So far I’ve been spending the fall season making things merry and bright. Since I’m also deeply in love with coloring foil with alcohol ink, this technique and project was a perfect match for this challenge!

Tune back in Wednesday…

As always, Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher that will go to a random entry chosen by random generator. We will also be choosing some of our entries to put in the spotlight – a special honor where we talk about why we loved that entry in particular and award a special badge too!
