Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Distress Oxide Watercoloring

Hello crafters, its Nina-Marie Trapani here, bringing a new Studio Monday video to you that features some fun, Distress Oxide watercoloring and stamping!

This technique would be perfect for coloring a variety of backgrounds, but my favorite backgrounds for this are geometric ones, such as the Round and Round Background from Simon Says Stamp.

I stamped the background with a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks. Then – using the same Oxide colors I stamped with – I watercolored the background. Mixing those colors together in spots created new colors, which adds some great variation to the pattern!

After coloring the background, I used the Simon Says Stamp Say It All Friend set to stamp a greeting; I paired that black stamped sentiment with another one, embossed in white on Guava cardstock.

Finally, I embellished the card with a few Ice Crystal sequins.
This colorful, abstract design was so much fun to create, and I hope you will try this technique out for yourself; watch the video below to see exactly how I did it!
