Make a Wish + NEW 3D Texture Fades

Hello crafty friends! It’s Cheiron Brandon here and I am thrilled to be back with another project this month using Tim Holtz supplies. Today I am using the brand new Sizzix Numbered Texture Fades along with Distress Paints to make a fun guy birthday card.
To get started I took out the Numbered texture fade, some panels of Distress Watercolor cardstock and Distress paints. I misted the Distress watercolor cardstock with the distress sprayer (about 3 times) and ran it through my Sizzix Sidekick. The texture on this on this folder is amazing!
To color the panel, I used Distress Paint in Mowed Lawn, Bundled Sage, Uncharted Mariner, Weathered Wood, and Prize Ribbon. I put a bit of each of the colors of paint out on my glass media mat. For the next part you will need to work quickly, so you will want to have all the paints out. I took each color and quickly painted over random numbers with a paintbrush until they were all covered in color (you can rinse between colors, but I just used 5 small brushes). Then I sprayed the panel to move the paints around and then dried the panel with a heat tool. I used a foam blending tool to ink the edges and go over the raised areas to really show those numbers and texture.
To finish the card, I cut the Make A Wish from it using the Bold Text 1 dies, and then also cut the Make a Wish from Distress Watercolor cardstock. I inlaid the white pieces into the cutout areas and added 2 more layers of letters to give it dimension. I thought it needed a little more contrast, so I splattered the panel with black and white paints. Once they were dry, I added an embossed sentiment from the Noteworthy set and added it to a white notecard.
