Make it Interactive: Funny Llama Birthday Card! Funny Friday with Art Impressions

Hey there friends, it’s Nina-Marie Trapani here with another installment of our Funny Friday series with Art Impressions! I can always use a birthday card—when I saw the Llama stamp and die set, I thought they would be perfect!

I also incorporated some fun Simon Says Stamp products into this card, including the Mod Layering Leaves and Slimline Confetti stencils, plus the Big and Bold greetings stamp and die set.

Send a BOLD floral HELLO: Crafty with Caly

Hi friends! Happy Thursday! Please join me in welcoming special guest Caly Person back to our blog in our bi-monthly Crafty with Caly blog series! Be sure to watch the video for all the details, and enjoy!

Hi there! My card today uses the Lovely Layers Water Lily die set from Honey Bee Stamps. To begin, I die-cut my flowers with white cardstock. I also die-cut the flower centers using yellow cardstock and the foliage using green cardstock.
The flower layers are etched from the die-cutting, so it’s easy to see the “exposed” areas of each layer so you know exactly where to in-blended. Be sure to check out the video to see how I ink-blended these layers!
WATCH THE VIDEO:
I ink-blended two sets of large water lilies and lily pads and one water lily bud. The flowers are ink-blended with both pink and purple to give the flower layers interest and contrast. Ink-blending the foliage with two shades of green also adds a lot of depth.

For the background, I ink-blended with Distress Oxide Inks in Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, and Uncharted Mariner. I spritzed the panel with some water to give it texture before adding my die-cut elements.

To finish, I stamped and die-cut a sentiment from the Mini Messages and Mini Messages Banners dies.
I hope you like this project! Thanks for visiting today! ~Caly
