Charcoal Plover Pouches with Tim Holtz Palette Fabric!

Hi friend! Happy Monday!! Please join me in welcoming back special guest Richele Christensen and we’re highlighting the versatile and lovely charcoal fabric released this month from Tim Holtz Ecclectic Elements collection! The pattern Richele used can be found HERE if you’d like to give this a go! Read on and enjoy!

Hello friends! Have you noticed how colorful the Palette Charcoal Collection by Tim Holtz is. I know they’re just black and white but the designs are so stunning. I choose a few of my favorite designs and made these beautiful Charcoal Plover Pouches. I love these particular pouches by Anna Graham of NoodleHead Patterns. They feature a large gusted bottom so they stand up and open wide for easy access, they have a mesh pocket inside and the medium and large pouches have a zippered pocket inside. Noodlehead has a wonderful video from her sew a long to help you make them. These Pouches would be wonderful in any of the Palette fabrics.

- Cut out all the pieces using your favorite Palette Charcoal fabrics. For this small pouch I’ve used the Moths fabric for the outside and the Handwriting for the lining and the accent is the Vintage.
 - Prepare your main zipper by adding the ends and side tabs.
 - Sew together the gusset pieces for the outside and the lining pieces.
 - Make the inside pocket by sewing the folded elastic to the top of the mesh pocket and then baste to the lining. You can add stitching to create a divided pocket if desired.

- Sew the gusset to both of the sides pieces. Repeat for lining. Add the zipper unit and sew along the top.
 - Turn right side out through the hole in the bottom.
 - Sew the bottom closed by stitching close to the edge.
 - Top stitch around top edge about 1/8” from the edge.

- Add the snaps to each side as an accent or you could use a button.
 - Give the Pouch a good press with the iron.

Fill it with all the things and enjoy. Thanks so much for stopping in today and happy sewing! -Richele

Hello crafters, it’s Shari Carroll here with you! I have a new edition of our popular Did You Know series today!
I thought I’d try something a little different. Did you know you can make your own watercolor aqua pens using Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stains and Distress re-inkers?

Not only will they match your Distress ink pads, but they’re perfect for times where it’s impossible to paint a whole piece in one sitting. They’re always ready to go!
I’ve created a video to show how easy it is to customize your water brush pens below. Enjoy!
