DieCember® 2023 Blog Hop WINNERS!

Hello, friends, and Happy DieCember®! We hope you are loving our newest release!
Our very first DieCember was in December 2013, and it’s hard to believe that it’s been 11 years already! Die cutting has changed the way that we create. To celebrate all things die cutting, we are hosting a month-long DieCember® celebration. Throughout the month you will see special features, sales, education, and inspiration that focus on die cutting.
To celebrate this phenomenal release, we hosted two amazing blog hops! The hops featured many talented designers and each one created wonderful projects to inspire you. If you missed either of the hops, you can find the direct links here: DAY ONE and DAY TWO.
A BIG thank you to all of YOU who joined us for the hops! We enjoy hearing from each of you, and your words of encouragement and appreciation to each of the designers mean so much to us here at Simon and to them. It’s our tradition to give away gift certificates to random commenters on each blog stop, and today we are revealing all of the winners! So without further ado, I present to you our winners!

Bold, Modern, and Graphic Christmas Card: Yippee for Yana

Hi friends! Please join me in welcoming back the oh-so-talented and amazing Yana Smakula! (Please note: our dear friend Yana is Ukrainian. To show support to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, please see Yana’s post HERE.)

Hello, crafters, this is Yana Smakula for Simon Says Stamp! Welcome back for another Yippee
For Yana video!
Today I am creating a Christmas card with the Simons Says Stamp Joyful stamp set. This card
has a very bold, modern, and sort of graphic look to it. I love to make cards like this and it has
been a while since I made one.

I first heat embossed the Joyful sentiment in Antique Gold embossing powder on a panel of
Schoolhouse Red cardstock. I did the embossing twice to have a thicker layer of powder. Next, I
stamped the same image in watermark ink filling the background in, I love the tone-on-tone look.

You can use any image for this type of card design. Stamp & heat emboss the image in the
center and fill the rest of the space by stamping the same image in watermark ink.
I created a card base from the same Schoolhouse Red cardstock and adhered my main panel
onto it. You can do your stamping directly on the card base, but cardstock often warps from heat
embossing and I didn’t want to have any warping on my panel.

Lastly, I added a foiled “Merry Christmas” sentiment created using a BetterPress plate and
Glimmer Hot Foil System. Have fun stamping!
