Weekender with Wanda – Taylored Expressions treats!
Hello! Happy Saturday! Hope you had a great week! Did you enjoy coming along with us to CHA last weekend? It was a blast, and we sure had a great time bringing all the show news to you via blog posts and Instagram. Everyone at the SSS home office is busy ordering all the new goodies to stock the store. I can’t wait for it all to come in. Welcome back to the latest edition of Weekender with Wanda here on the Simon Says Stamp Blog. Today I’m sharing some cheery Valentines made with super cute new stamps and embossing folders from Taylored Expressions. Their stamps are really so adorable – and I particularly love their Petite sets – they come with the matching dies already in the package! Can’t beat that.
I used the Pizza My Heart stamp set and I couldn’t decide between using the coffee stamp or the donut stamp – so I made two cards! I used the same supplies for both and just switched the papers around a bit. I colored the images with my Copic Markers. I used papers and embellishments from the newest Doodlebug collection. I think that Doodlebug supplies match with Taylored Expressions stamps perfectly!
I love you a latte! And donut forget that I love you! EEEK!
I started with a white A2 card base. For my bottom layer I used white cardstock and then ran it through my Big Shot with the Swiss Hearts Embossing Folder. SO pretty. I used the Stitched Rectangles dies to make my patterned paper layer and my top white layer. The red strip of heart paper I cut with my paper trimmer. I stamped my images with the awesome new Intense Black Ink Pad from Simon Says Stamp (perfect for Copic coloring).
Here are my Copic marker selections – just a few colors. These are the ones that I thought best matched the patterned paper. I love how this Valentine paper pad has some aqua in it – so fresh and bright!
I cut some circles using EK Success punches and then added enamel hearts to the center! I used a Doodlebug Clothespin to make it look like my layers are clipped together. The layers are mounted onto my card base using foam tape. For the coffee cozy I paper pieced it with the same paper pad.
That’s it for me today! Some tips from this post: Use your patterned paper to paper piece some parts of your images to tie it together, Pick your papers before choosing your marker colors so you can color match and, most importantly, have fun! Until we meet again next time – have an awesome and creative day!

Mommy Lhey is getting us organized!
Hi readers! TGIF! What a week! Whew! Please join me in welcoming first time guest Lhey Bella Ralston of Mommy Lhey Designs! She’s allowed us to peek into her fabulous planners to get a sense of her style and take a few notes from a planner PRO! Check them out and enjoy!
Hey everyone, Lhey here from Mommy Lhey Designs. I am excited to share with all of you my Planner Layout. For this week, I opted for a more subtle color combination. No other embellishment but plain stamping alone. (I used; Pattern My Hexa, Bunny Script, Caffeine Doze, and Planner Girl!)I often find it easier to manage when I stick to stamping. I love the color combination that I used here, it’s almost perfect for winter. What do you think? How do you decorate your planner pages?

I also wanted to share with all of you how I use my Heidi Swapp’s Gold Foil Stripes Memory Planner. I personally do not use it as a PLANNER/AGENDA. I use it for Memory Keeping just like a smaller Project Life. Balancing my life as a small business owner, Mom and a wife can sometimes be difficult to keep up with my crafty projects. I love using this method because I don’t have to write a long journal about my day. It’s short and sweet. I just add pictures, and stamping to decorate my whole week layout. It’s working well for me and I love that at the end of the month, I can see how our week went and go back through the memories made. Thanks for reading!
