Doodling with Debby: Simply Stamped Tropic Leaves
Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! Welcome to the latest edition of Doodling with Debby starring the always fabulous Debby Hughes who made a super on-trend pair of beautiful cards that are really giving me those sunny day vibes! Be sure to watch the video and enjoy!!

Hi, it’s Debby here for my monthly Doodling With Debby video feature here on the Simon Says Stamp blog. Today I’m all about the leaves with two cards based on the same design idea and both using the Tropical Leaves and Big Greetings 1 stamp sets.
Monstera leaves are proving to be particularly popular and trendy at the moment, be they the actual plant grown at home or used as in stationery, pattern design, and fabrics. There’s a lovely Monstera leaf in the Tropical Leaves set from Simon Says Stamp and I chose to pull out my green inks and get stamping! I picked Beanstalk Green, Green Leaf, Evergreen and Seafoam inks and used them to stamp four leaf images multiple times. I then used the matching dies to die cut the leaves.
For the sentiments, I used the Big Greetings 1 stamp set and stamped the sentiments on Slate card with Clear Embossing Ink, before sprinkling with White Embossing Powder and heat setting. I trimmed the sentiments to a banner and foam mounted them on a panel of white card cut with a Wonky Rectangle die.
With one card, I arranged the leaves spraying out from behind the banner and with the other card, I used the leaves coming in from the edges of the panel to frame the sentiment. In each case, I kept the leaves in place with foam adhesive.
I then attached the panels to top folding white card bases cut from Neenah Solar White 110lb weight card and embellished with Butterfly Kisses sequins. These cards were so simple to put together and yet I think they provide a big punch. Also, green is my favorite color and I’m always partial to a nice leaf!
Thanks for joining me today and I’ll see you next time for Doodling With Debby.

More Spring Flowers with Distress Oxides
Hi friends! Happy Monday! Please welcome back special guest designer Dana Joy to our blog! She’s made a floral beauty using our new Even More Spring Flowers stamp set and Distress Oxide inks. Be sure to read on for more tips and tricks to recreate this beauty for yourself from Dana and enjoy!
Hey everyone. It’s Dana from Got Joy Creations back with you today sharing an easy distress oxide ink blending card panel and some beautiful oxide watercolor flowers. To start my card off I used a 110 lb Neenah Solar White card stock to create a 4.25 x 5.50 card. I taped down a diagonal striped stencil over my card base with some painter’s tape. This will help my stencil stay in place when I blend my oxide inks. For my inks I used squeezed lemonade, bundled sage, broken china, shaded lilac and worn lipstick. I blended my inks in rainbow-ish order. I spritzed just a tab bit of water to get a soft blend to my inks. I removed my stencil and set my card base aside to dry.
