Work It Wednesday December 2018/January 2019: Try Something NEW!
Happy Wednesday, friends! Welcome to Work It Wednesday for December 2018!
In case you’re wondering what ‘Work It Wednesday’ is, let me explain: On the third Wednesday of every month (or towards the end of the month ?), we want to see what you’re creating! The Simon Says Stamp community is so very talented, and we want to see more of your cards and projects every month.
We thought this would be a great way for all of you to ‘stretch your creative muscles’ and share what you’ve been working on. So we’ll give you a little challenge each month, and you’ll have until the following month to share what you’ve made. Please limit entries to 3 per month.
Each month we’ll pick a few random participants to win a Simon Says Stamp grab bag! YAY!

2019 is almost upon us! Whenever a new year begins, many of us attempt to start afresh and tackle things we didn’t do in the year past. So we are challenging you to try something NEW this month!
- Perhaps there’s a technique you have been putting off trying?
- What about trying a new color combination?
- Or maybe you have a new-to-you product that you’ve not yet played with; Simon says it’s time to break out those products and start WORKING them!
Whatever you create this month, make sure it is something NEW for you! Once you’ve created your projects, make sure you link your creations below!

January 2019 Card Kit – More Card Kit Inspiration with Kristina Werner!
Hello, all! Kristina here! Today I have a card and video featuring the January 2019 Card Kit! :)
The first thing I did was add ink to the Distress Oxide Custom Blend (empty) ink pad that’s included in the kit. I choose three colors of Distress Oxide Ink that I already had in my stash (the re-inkers are not included in the kit): Dried Marigold, Seedless Preserves, and Chipped Sapphire. After applying the ink to the pad, I swiped the ink pad over the lid of the pad so that I’ll know in the future what colors I used. NOTE: I don’t show this step in the video, but you can see the lid of the ink pad in the photo above.
I swiped the ink pad across the front of my card base, and then sprinkled some water over the area for added texture. The Distress Oxide ink reacts with the water!
Then I stamped one of the snowman from the Snow Much stamp set in Intense Black ink and colored him with coordinating colors of Copic markers. I cut out the snowman and left a slight margin around the shape.
Using a MISTI, I stamped the greeting and snowflakes in VersaMark ink and applied white heat embossing powder. I then adhered the snowman using foam squares.
