Wanda created a card using Tim Holtz Distress Spray StainsOxide Sprays, and Distress Spritz combined with Translucent Texture Paste for her background. She used Creative Worship Vintage Ledger PagePeaceful Botanicals and Vintage Nature Elements stamps and dies, and a Floating Circles Stencil.  She finished with a strip of Tim Holtz Alchemy Fabric and Simon Says Stamp Summer Blooms Embellishment Mix

Andrea made a journal spread in her Art by Marlene Creative Journal. She got lots of splattery goodness from Distress Oxide Sprays and added spots and dots using Seth Apter’s EM124 stamp. She added some Tim Holtz Red Collage Eclectic Elements fabric and patterned paper from 49th and Market’s Toddler Time collection.

Anna-Karin made an art journal page with pastel, summery colors. The Simon Says Stamp Stylized Butterfly was misted with Ranger Saltwater Taffy and Peacock Feathers Distress Spritz, as well as Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray Stain. Some spritzing was done on the mixed media background too.

Barbara created the backgrounds of her tags with various Ranger Ink Distress Spray Stain in her favorite shades. She used some dies from the Sizzix Seth Apter collection for the focal point and the Splatters stencil in the mini version (set 3) from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous.

Cheiron created a card using the Tim Holtz Large A5 Entangled Embossing Folder. She covered the raised areas with Tumbled Glass Distress Embossing Glaze then sprayed with Distress Spray Stains and topped with tons of Distress Spritz for sparkle and shine. She created her sentiment using the letters from the Letterboard Side Order dies.

Kath spritzed Tim Holtz Distress Saltwater Taffy, Kitsch Flamingo and Lucky Clover Spray Stains through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flourish Mini Layering Stencil from Set 10 to create backgrounds, applied Distress Black Texture Paste through the Wildflower Mini Layering Stencil from the same set and added lots of splatter using Dina Wakley White and Black Gloss Sprays and Tim Holtz Distress Sugary Gumdrop Mica Stain.

Macarena went totally wild with building the background with Tim Holtz Distress Mica Stain Ranger several colors. She went even further and kept stamping in different colors Tim Holtz The Professor, Glitch 2 and Entomology stamps all over.

Maura created a mushroom themed canvas using Simple Stories Vintage Woodlands papers and stamps. She collaged the papers onto Stamperia’s Hidden Grove Mushroom Crafty Shapes, and added lots of spritz and splatter with mediums like Tim Holtz Harvest Moon Mica Stain.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Stamperia Sea Land 8×8 Paper on the background, and decorated it with Tim Holtz idea-ology INDUSTRIAL GEARS Embellishments and  Tim Holtz idea-ology PAPER DOLLS PORTRAiTS.

Monochrome Challenge Winner and Designer Spotlights

designer-spotlight

We have 3 artists in the Designer Spotlight for the Monochrome Challenge!

#44 Denise Bryant – Emma says: This fabulous shaped card is so bright and beautiful and it brings a ray of sunshine to the challenge theme! I adore the sunflowers on the pretty polka dot background and the colour tones are just perfect. Congratulations, it’s a gorgeous card Denise.

#4 Joanne TravisMacarena says: I absolutely love the texture and everything what is going on in the background of this beauty. The delicate composition with these lovely lemons and just a touch of white looks really elegant and yummy. I love the shades of calm brownish yellow used here. It’s an amazing card, Joanne!

#42 – Dana M – Zoey says : This beauty stole the monochrome crown with a bouquet of blue-tiful brilliance! 💙 Proof that you don’t need a full palette to make a statement—just commitment, texture, and a very convincing shade of existential blue. From ghostly botanicals to that film strip quietly judging me, this piece had me staring, then spiraling (in a good way). 10/10 for mood. Would get lost in it!
Congratulations Dana!
