Simon Says: Spritz and Splatter

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Thank you for joining us for the Bright & Cheerful Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

This week we are challenging you to:

SPRITZ AND SPLATTER

The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $25 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz at the bottom of this post! Cassie used a Tim Holtz French Garden Cling Stamp Set and the Simon Says Stamp Coordinating Die Set for the flowers. For the background she used a Tim Holtz Classics #4 Cling Stamp Set. The flowers are colored with distress water color pencils. The fun splatters were made with Spellbinders Splatter White Opaque Watercolor Paint

Andrea made a spritzy-splattery journal spread in her Studio Light Creative Journal. She used Tim Holtz Distress Oxides in Scorched Timber and Lost Shadow for the background and splattered on some Dina Wakley White Media Gloss Spray. She also incorporated bright ephemera pieces from AALL & Create’s Faded Memories and Rose Reverie sets.

Anna-Karin made an art journal page using mists, splatter and ink. The page is done in Stamperia’s Create Happiness Mixed Media 6×3.5 Journal. Both Ranger Distress Spritz and Distress Oxide Spray were used together with stencils. The trees were die cut with Simon Says Stamp Snow Laden Trees.

Barbara created a Valentine tag using Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Layering stencil Heartstruck in her background, along with Ranger Distress Spray Stain Aged Mahogany and Distress Spritz Antique Linen. As sentiment she used the Tim Holtz Pennants Stamps with Simon Says Stamps Dies Bundle. At the center of her project is a portrait from the Idea-ology Photomatic pack.

Kath created a gift box, card and tag inspired by Simon Says Create Together – Sending Love YouTube Class. She used Picked Raspberry Distress Spray Stain and Distress Spritz to create spritz and splatter backgrounds, die-cut with Simon Says Sweethearts Box and Postage Stamp Edge Frames dies and decorated with Love Letter stamp set and dies.

Macarena spritzed the entire card with Tim Holtz Flip Top Distress Paint Picket Fence. She used Tim Holtz Brushstrokes stamp on the heard which she sewed and fussy cut. She added elements from 49 & Market Krafty Garden Elements Laser Cut Outs and chipboards from the same collection.

Maura made a Love You tag using several types of sprays including Tim Holtz Winterberry Distress Mica Spray, and Tim Holtz Distress Carved Pumpkin Spray, along with Simon Says Stamp’s Floating Leaves Stencil She added a bouquet of flowers made with the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Abstract Florals stamp set.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps NOBLE GENT on the background, then colored it with Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi 48 COLOR Set and splattered it with Tim Holtz Flip Top Distress Paint Foursome.

Zoey used Tim Holtz Flower Jar + Flower Jar Thinlits to create a little cluster, she also used Vault Boutique to add more decoration to her tag. To color she used Distress Ink Spray Stain with the matching Spritz

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using our very own Simon Says Stamp Products. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

This week we’re welcoming back the lovely Cassie Lynch into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven’t visited her blog before then you are in for a real treat!

Cassie is ready for Spring and flowers. She used a Simon Says Stamp; Quilted Hearts Background Cling Stamp and a Floral Garden Clear Stamp Set. The flowers were colored with Tim Holtz Watercolor Pencils and the sentiment is from a Tim Holtz Tiny Text Stamp Set.

Anna-Karin made a bright and cheerful tag this week. The circle background was made with Simon Says Stamp Mix and Match Circles stencil and Distress Ink. The hearts were die cut from old book paper and vellum using Simon Says Stamp Sweethearts Box die set.

Barbara continues her memory dex card calendar! For her project she used the AAll & Create Spring Sprouts dies and the Simon Says Stamp Stained Glass Heart wafer die. The sentiment and the stencil used in the background are both by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous: Love Notes CMS477 stamp set and Hearts Layering Stencil mini version set 6. Four Ranger Ink Distress ink pads for coloring, bright as requested by our challenge: Dried Marigold, Kitsch Flamingo, Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac.

Kath used Distress Oxide inks to create a bright and cheerful background on Distress Watercolor card, embossed with Simon Says Pinnacle Hearts Embossing Folder and decorated with Tim Holtz/Ideaology Palette Ephemera and the butterfly and sentiment from Simon Says Distressed Vintage Love Notes 6″ x 8″ stamp set.

Macarena used her favorite Simon Says Stamp Mushroom Stems die and embossed their hats with Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Powder Fine Details. For the background she chose 49 and Market Spectrum Gardenia Spiral Notebook.

Maura created a rainbow tag of lucky clovers using Simon Says Stamp’s Sketched Clovers stamp set, and Simon’s Pawsitively Saturated inks like Field and Mandarin, with Simon’s Floating Leaves stencil and Small Blending Brushes.

Meihsia was inspired to create a Valentine’s Day card using Simon Says Clear Stamps Lined Heart To Be Loved and Simon Says Stamp Lined Heart Wafer Dies To Be Loved

Zoey used Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Wafer Die as her sentiment in this journal spread. She also used Transparent wings and Stencil Everyday to add some more interest to her page!
