Simon Says: Make A Rainbow
Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Things With Wings Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are challenging you to
Make A Rainbow
this theme can be interpreted in many ways, you could choose to actually paint a rainbow or use a rainbow of bright colours on your project. We will be looking forward to seeing how you interpret this challenge!
We are showcasing Tim Holtz Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in, but if you have them we would love to see them used!
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
Remember to click on the person’s name to see all of the details of how we made these creations and leave these wonderful girls some comment love
We are welcoming the lovely and super talented Amy Bethke aka Amy’s Card Obsession into the Designer Spotlight. Please pop over to Amy’s fabulous blog and see the awesome creations she has made!
Amy took Tim Holt’z Crazy Birds on a psychedelic 70’s trip for this challenge. She used lots of Tim Holtz Products and some unconventional ones, too – including tie-dying a paper towel with Distress Markers for a background and using a cotton ball and Distress Ink to create a wig for her hippie chickie.
Andrea made a multi-dimensional notebook using Tim Holtz’s new Cityscape Metropolis dies and Cityscape Suburbia dies. She added texture to her colorful city using Tim Holtz’s Vintage Design Tape and topped off her scene with a rainbow.
Anna-Karin loves words and decided to fill an entire frame with Tim Holtz’s Quote Chips. The chips were inked with Distress Inks to create a very colorful project.
Barbara has created her little colorful world with a lot of Tim’s products: Distress oxides, Sizzix Cityscape Skyline and Paper dolls. She has enclosed it in a new Idea-ology Mini framed panel.
Cathie created a spring cottage shadow box using the Tim Holtz Window & Window Box die. She surrounded the window with a rainbow of beautiful flowers created with the Tim Holtz Small Tattered Florals and Wildflowers thinlits dies colored with a rainbow of Distress Ink colors.
Emma used Tim Holtz Distress Paints to create an explosion of rainbow colours on the background of her canvas panel and built up layers by using the Mixed Media Thinlints Die, together with the Layered Dragonfly coloured with Peacock Feathers Distress Paint and a quote chip to complete the canvas.
Kath used Distress Oxide inks, Tim Holtz Birch and Pine Stamp Set and Layering Stencil Splatters to create a rainbow background on her card.
Lols used a Tim Holtz Mini Frame to make a wall plaque using Mini Butterflies and Simon’s Exclusive Rainbow and Chevron Cloud Dies
Macarena made a rainbow background using Distress Inks and placing a textured Caged Bird colored with Prima Acrylic Paints.
Maura went a little cray cray with Tim Holtz’s Hipster stamps and Eclectic Elements Craft Thread in blues and greens, and yellow, orange and red.
Meihsia created a mixed media card with a rainbow background using Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain and the sentiment using Tim Holtz Mini Motivation Stamp.
Sandra had so much fun trying out those Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink for the first time creating a rainbow of colors along with the cool Cityscape Skyline die.
So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
