This week we are welcoming the lovely Alison Bomber aka Words and Pictures into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven’t visited her blog before then you are in for a real treat!

Bright and cheerful is not Alison’s usual thing, so this was a proper challenge!  But she decided that keeping it small would make it easier.  She altered some teabag sachets by spritzing Broken China and Twisted Citron Distress Sprays over a white-embossed Katzelkraft collage stamp, and then adding some of the Minis Paper Dolls and Snippets Ephemera labels in the brightest possible colours.  There’s also some Design Tape trim, Small Chat stickers and Snippets Number Strips in the mix.  See the layers building over at Words and Pictures.

Andrea created a page in her Dina Wakley Media 6×6 White Journal using Katzelkraft’s Mushpignons stamp set. She also used Tim Holtz’s Number Strips and Floral Linen Tape to add some texture.

Anna-Karin created a bright and happy scene in her art journal. She used Katzelkraft’s Birches Forest stamp set, combined with watercolor paint and Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks. Sentiments were added with Tim Holtz Clippings Stickers.

Barbara is totally comfortable this week, bright colors are definitely in her style! She created a tag using the new stencil Focus by Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous together with Ranger Distress Texture Paste Translucent over a background painted with Distress Colors Spray and Ink Pad. The focal point is a circle stamp, Halftones Round by Katzelkraft, and Tim Holtz Sizzix Scribbly Butterflies and Tattered Butterfly.

Cheiron used the Arbores silhouettes stamp from Katzelkraft to create a bright and cheerful sunrise scene perfect to start a brand new day. She stamped the trees in Wilted Violet Distress Oxide and embossed them with Wilted Violet Distress Glaze. Then painted on Distress Oxides mixed with water to create a sunrise and added a sentiment from the new Noteworthy Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous set.

Emma created a card and layered bright florals against a dramatic background of black and gold, which was stamped using the Background Halftones Etoile stamp by Katzelkraft. She coloured Modern Floristry die cut flowers with Tim Holtz Distress Inks before arranging them around the sentiment, Hello Friend.

Kath had lots of fun making a bright cheerful page in her Dina Wakley 6″ x 6″ White Media Journal  featuring Katzelkraft’s adorable Elephant Napoleon and used Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Eccentric and The Chemist, Tiles and Rays Mini Layering Stencils and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower and Bunny Games Thinlits.

Lols  made a card featuring Katzelkraft Van Gogh Elephant and Flamingo stamps. She spritzed the background with Tumbled Glass Stain and then stamped some clouds in Spun Sugar Ink before over stamping and White Heat Embossing more clouds. She then used a Tim Holtz Leafy Stencil to add some greenery. She coloured the images with Distress Inks and fussy cut and shaped the elephant and accessories.

Macarena made a lovely card for a Chihuahua lover using adorable Katzelkraft Chien Enervy stamp placing the doggy over a sweet background made with Couture Creations One Kiss mini die. She used a mix of Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Kitsch Flamingo, Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Seedles Preserves.

Maura made a card for her sister’s dog, Bella, to celebrate her graduation from obedience school. She used Katzelkraft’s Booly and Be Brave stamps.

Meihsia was inspired to create an art journal page using Stamperia KLIMT ART IS A LINE Cling Stamps on the background, and added sentiments with Katzelkraft ATARAXIA Red Rubber Unmounted Stamp and Tim Holtz Idea-ology REMNANT RUBS LABELED.

Sandra made a birthday card for a friend with the Katzelkraft Charlot le Chat stamp and used the Dot Fade stencil with Texture Paste she colored with Metallique Paint Stormy Ocean.

Zoey used the new Tim Holtz stamp (Reserve yours now!) Noteworthy and Eccentric to decorate the background of her tag. She also used the new Stencils Set 52 and Freight.

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
