It’s Deborah’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a real pleasure to have you along with us :-)

Deborah project this week is called “Dream Traveler.”  She recycled a cigar box as her substrate, lid top from a can of whole tomatoes for the bezel for her compass, postage stamps, and dominoes.  She used Tim Holtz’s Vignette panels for her Paper Dolls to sit on, dominoes for the boy to stand on, Industrial Gears, Urban Layers, Film Strip Ribbon that she backed with postmark addresses, Memoir Ephemera, Flashcards, Crackle Paste, Grit Paste, Distress Crayons, Alcohol Inks, various distress paints, and stains.

Andrea recycled some tea bags to give texture to the background of her Tim Holtz Mini File Folder. She colored the tea bags with Infusions Colored Stain (Olive Tree and Royal Blood), added some Market Square patterned paper, and used Dina Wakley’s I Am stamp set for the silhouette focal point.

Anna-Karin turned a piece of cardboard into a tag and made dimensional flowers with vintage buttons. The flower stems were die cut with Simon Says Stamp Tender Leaves and Etched Evening Blossom dies.

Barbara makes lots of backgrounds that she keeps even when they don’t completely satisfy her! She is sure that the right time will come for each of them to be recycled and used! Today, she has recycled a background created using the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Roses stencil along with Ranger Distress Resist Spray. She completed the tag using the new Distress color, Saltwater Taffy, and the Tim Holtz Sizzix The Park Thinlits Die.

Cheiron created a tag using the numbers from the packaging on her Labeled Remnant Rubs as a focal point. She created the tag from Backdrops Volume 3 papers, added a Portraits paper doll and some Transparent Things. She added the numbers from the packaging along with Snippets ephemera and a Mirrored Star to finish her tag.

Emma created a vintage style canvas panel, and chose to recycle the waste from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Etcetera Trims to create a frame for her group paper dolls to sit against. She mounted the frame onto a map background paper from Backdrops Volume 2 before using recycled acetate packaging to add ‘glass’ behind an open Baseboard Window Frame.

Kath was inspired by a crafty friend to make small storage books to hold all her Idea-ology Ephemera Snippets so she could flick through and see at a glance what she had. She used Distress Kraft HeavyStock for the covers and decorated with recycled Idea-ology packaging, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Pocket Cards, Ephemera Snippets – Number Strips, Curator, Field Notes, Trims Design Tape and Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bubbles Mini Layering Stencil with Distress Texture Paste.

Macarena went totally teal with Tim Holtz Patina Oxide Spray using for the background the AALL & Create Graphic ABCS stencil. She recycled a piece of an corrugated cardboard and also cut one of the Tim Holtz Sizzix Bottled Up out from an old packaging.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Distress Paint Mowed Lawn Ranger to color the recycled corrugated cardboard on the background, and decorated it with Stamperia Savana A5 Colored Wooden Shapes and Stamperia Savana Die Cuts

Sandra  made a card using old packaging, she started with collaging it along with old book paper and Entomogoly Collage Paper, and building up color with Distress Paint Antique Linen and Black Soot.

Zoey used some of the new IdeaOlogy released item from Tim Holtz to decorate her tag. She used Transparent Thing, Paperdoll Portrait and the Linen Tape. She then used scraps from old book page to decorate. The base is also an old book page covered with Distress Oxide Spray.

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
