Spring Mood Board

The lovely Macarena has made this gorgeous mood board for our inspiration!

As you may know, the  Simon Says Stamp Store is accepting new orders, but have longer shipping times for the moment due to the coronavirus. With this in mind we have made the difficult decision to suspend the $50 voucher for this challenge.

We know that many people are staying safe at home and we would love it if you would continue to enter the challenges and have fun! We are all in this together!

It is Ann’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a real pleasure to have you along with us :-)

Ann loves the spring because the spring is full of vitality, full of new hope! She used  Tiny Tattered FloralsGarden Greens and Watering Can Die-Cuts. For the background she used Layering Stencil Stone Stencil and Texture Paste Opaque Matte to make a broken stone wall.

Andrea loves the warmth, brightness and hope that Spring brings. She focused on those elements on this tag, which was made with Inky Antics’ Stick Figure Fun stamp set, Maker’s Movement Nested Box Tag dies, and her trusty Sizzix Big Shot.

Anna-Karin was inspired by the mood board to create a spring-time scrapbooking layout. She used Tim Holtz Motif and Lost and Found papers for the background. The butterflies were die cut with Tim’s Scribbly Butterflies.

Barbara was inspired by spring and its colors! She made a card with an adorable bunny from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous’s Spring Shadows setTim Holtz Sizzix Funky Floral 1Ranger Distress Embossing Glaze Weathered Wood and Distress Oxide Inks Pads.

Cheiron created a card inspired by the flowers of spring. She started with a bright background stamped with Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text, then added some Distress Crackle texture paste through the Bouquet stencil and added Embossing Glaze on top before drying. She finished her card with some Photo Booth, Field Notes Ephemera and a Quote Chip.

Emma hopped into spring and created a whimsical home decor project that she hopes will bring a smile to everyone’s face. She used Tim Holtz’s Small Woodland Trees together with the Bunny Hop and Bouquet Thinlit Dies to add detail and texture to stacked Vignette Boxes.

Kath created a botanical panel to add to the kraft page in her Dina Wakley Media Journal using Tim Holtz Distress Cracked Leather Cardstock, Bouquet Layering Stencil with Distress Crackle Texture Paste, Tattered Rose and Fossilized Amber Distress Embossing Glazes, Idea-ology Field Notes Ephemera, Specimen Remnant Rubs and a Theories Quote Chip.

Lols  was inspired by the beautiful yellow flowers with the dark soil background and made a card using a Tim Holtz Wildflower Stems 2 Die Set. For the background she used Distress Oxide Inks and Rocky Road Infusions along with a Bubble Layering Stencil and Stamperia Glamour Gel.

Macarena was mostly inspired by the right bottom picture and for her card she used Tim Holtz Inventor 3 and Runway stamps. She colored everything with Distress Oxide sprays and embellished with Tim Holtz Sizzix Wildflower Stems dies.

Maura is definitely in the mood for Spring! She made a trio of cards using the Simon Says Stamp Flora background stamp with Prima Watercolor Oil Pastels, and added encouraging words with Simon’s Stronger Together set.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Prima Marketing Sweet Confection Dulce Flowers to decorate it and Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Theories Quote Chips and Specimen Remnant Rubs for the sentiments.

Sandra made a bright Spring card using Distress Crayons in the colors Mustard SeedSpiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry, along with Nuvo Shimmer Powders Falling LeavesAtlantis Burst and Green Parade.

Zoey was inspired by the pastel tone of the eggs and the key reminded her of the book “Secret Garden” – she used a bunch of Tim Holtz 2020 release such as Tim Holtz Idea-ology Ephemera Pack FIELD NOTES and FIELD NOTES SNIPPETS Ephemera. Tim Holtz Idea-ology FABRIC TAPE Embellishments were the perfect match for the whole color palette.

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!

  3. I loved the inspiration form the mood board! And also the spring theme, especially since we just had another big dump of snow! When will winter end? I guess it just means for craft time and less garden time. :) Stay safe everyone!

  4. I’ve never done a mood board challenge. It was harder and easier than I thought. Thanks for keeping us trying new things. I always enjoy a challenge that makes me trying something and gives a little guidance but not too much.
