Alison’s: song choice was “I Won’t Send Roses” from the musical Mack and Mabel. The romantic bitter-sweet lyrics inspired this gentle springtime creation.  It’s made with layered tags, a standard #8 tag over the Dylusions #12 Mixed Media tag – and lots of mixed media… Distress Inks and Oxides, PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Paints with the fabulous PaperArtsy Crackle Glaze, Tim Holtz’s new Botanical background stamp and Garden Greens Thinlits, and of course the Paper Doll who’s receiving the sad news that there won’t be any roses!

Andrea’s notebooks with lots of layers and flaps were inspired by the Avett Brothers’ “True Sadness” that talks about the hidden layers of people’s lives.  She used the We R Memory Keepers Cinch tool, Inky Antics’ Square Lift-Up Flaps dies, Kaisercraft’s Stargazer stamps and Jane Davenport’s Mermaid Markers.

Anna-Karin knew exactly which song to be inspired by for this challenge, We Will Rock You by Queen, which is her youngest’s favorite song. The big letters were die cut with Tim Holtz Sizzix Billboard die and the metallic sheets were embossed with the Paper Airplane and Diamond Plate texture fades.

Barbara was inspired by the Disney song ‘Under The Sea’ from The Little Mermaid movie. She used to create her card Tim Holtz Sizzix Seashell Bigz Die, Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Sea life set and Rangerink Perfect pearls.

Cheiron was inspired by the song ‘Empire State of Mind’ by Alicia Keys and Jay-Z.  She used the Tim Holtz Sizzix Metropolis and Snowglobe 2 Thinlits dies to create her New York City scene along with Distress Resist Spray to create her starry sky.

Emma was inspired by Louis Armstrong’s What A Wonderful World and she created a tag using the Globe die, together with red roses from the Floral Collage Paper to depict the words from the song.

Kath created an Art Journal Page inspired by a favourite Abba song “I Have A Dream, A Song To Sing” using Distress Oxide inks, Tim Holtz Layering Stencils, Idea-ology Type Lower, Block Lower Foam Stamps and Alphanumeric Thinlits for the title and included Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bird Crazy as a reminder of the feathered friends in her garden who definitely have a song to sing and usually at 4.00am in the morning.

Lols was inspired by Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard and made a luggage tag for her next trip to the Bahamas!  She used a Tim Holtz Beach Side Order Die and Embossing Folder Set to create a desert island scene. She used Distress Oxide Inks to colour the background and die cut the elements from Simon’s Exclusive Glitter Card.

Macarena was inspired by immortal Elvis using as a background frame the newest Simon Says Stamp Heart Stream die, colored it with Prima Marketing Oil Patels and distressing one of the Tim Holtz Baseboard Frame.

Maura was inspired by the song “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper, to make her girly art journal page, using Art Impressions Dancers set, Paper Artsy Candy Floss and Orchid chalk paints, Prima Watercolor Classics, and lots of Paper Artsy Infusions like A Bit Jaded.

Meihsia created a mixed media tag inspired by ABBA’s “Lay All Your Love on Me” using Sizzix Lumber 3D Fades Embossing Folder for the texture on the background and embellished with Tim Holtz Scribbles and Splats Thinlets Die.

Sandra was inspired by the song Diamonds of Rihanna and used the Simon Says Stamp Deco Diamonds stamp from the new Sending Sunshine release with White Embossing Powder and colored the background with Green Man, Blackcurrant and Slime Infusions.

Zoey used Simon Says Stamp Clear Make your Mark and Paper Artsy Ellen Vargo 06 Eclectica 3  stamp sets to decorate this grungy looking tag. She also had fun playing with Paper Artsy Infusion and Ranger’s Distress Paint all while listening to one of her instrumental favorite song…

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
