This week we’re welcoming back the lovely Pauline C into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven’t visited her blog before then you are in for a real treat!
Pauline made a travel-themed masculine card, featuring Tim Holtz Road Trip stamps and Dot Fade Layering Stencil, along with Tracy Evans Boutique Designs Background Elements and Garden Elements stamps. She created her background with a selection of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pads, and embellished with Idea-ology Mini Gears, Ephemera Pack Memoir, and Small Talk Stickers.

Andrea made a card using some of her favorite Tim Holtz stamp sets: Halftone and Rings, Theories and Sideshow. She also used Tim’s Specimen die set for the card itself and used his Stars and Gradient Dots stencils for the background elements, along with some Cello Sticker Tape. The dapper gent is from Tim’s Photobooth images.

Barbara created a masculine Christmas-themed tag using Tim Holtz’s Sizzix Christmas Vault Series die. The background was created with Ranger Ink Distress Spray Stain, Tumbled Glass Speckled Egg and a Stampers Anonymous stencil from Mini Set 44. The tag was cut with Simon Says Stamp Luggage Tags Wafer Dies.

Cheiron used one of her favorite masculine Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamps, The Inspector, to create her card. She combined it with lots of coloring with Distress Watercolor Pencils and some spray from the Distress Sprayer to blend it. She finished the card with a Small Talk Sticker.

Kath created a card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Large A5 Texture Fade Typewriter, Idea-ology Halloween 2024 and Archives Collage Papers, Gauge Dials, Ephemera Snippets, Paper Dolls Poses and Snarky Small Talk Stickers.

Macarena made a layered and textured masculine card using for the background Tim Holtz Tidbits stamps and Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Wheel with Distress Texture Paste Black Opaque. She also added elements from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Urban Layers set.

Maura created a tag inspired by her son who loves to collect natural objects. She used Tim Holtz Observations and Inquisitive stamps, along with Tim Holtz Christmas Background papers and Archives Collage papers.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps THE PROFESSOR on the background, and decorated it with Tim Holtz idea-ology INDUSTRiAL GEARS Embellishments and Tim Holtz idea-ology LABEL STICKERS THOUGHTS.

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!

Simon Says: Add Some Texture

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Stencils Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are challenging you to:
ADD SOME TEXTURE
The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $25 voucher to shop at the Simon Says Stamp Store! It’s Alison’s last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past month. It has been a real pleasure to have you along with us :-)
Alison has been busy adding texture to her altered book art journal, and it’s spooky texture too! In the textural layers, you’ll find Idea-ology Mummy Cloth, Ranger Distress Crackle Paste, wrinkled and ripped PaperArtsy Printed Tissue, and distressed Typewriter Embossing Folder letter keys, made with Black Kraft Stock. Of course there is some stencilling and stamping too – the Shatter stencil providing cobwebs, and Apothecary and Mini Halloween 3 some detail stamping. Lots of Idea-ology Halloween ephemera (from over the years) tells the story of the fortune teller with a sideline in poisonings!! Head over to Alison’s blog to find out more, and there’s a process video coming up on YouTube midweek too.

Andrea created texture by adding lots of layers and incorporating cardboard. The number strip is from Seth Apter’s Stretchers Dies and the red and white frame is made from Whimsy Stamps’ Chunky Checkers Dies. The card itself is made using AALL & Create’s Hexalove Dies. The “thoughts” sentiment is from Tim Holtz’s Noble Gent Stamp Set.

Anna-Karin made a tag with colorful, textured mushrooms and a textured inky background. She used Simon Says Stamp Tall Mushrooms, Pocket Full of Mushrooms and Mushroom Stems to die cut the mushrooms. Grass from Tim Holtz Nature’s Discovery is stamped in the background.

Barbara created a Halloween Idea-ology Vignette box. I added Simon Says Stamp Sparkle Paste Black, Tim Holtz Distress Mica Flakes Ranger, and Tim Holtz Distress Texture Paste Black Opaque Ranger to keep with the theme. She cut the crow by using Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Gothic Portraits Thinlits Dies. She added some Idea-ology elements, including Tim Holtz Idea-ology Trick or Treat and Tim Holtz Idea-ology 2024 Halloween Baseboards.

Cheiron created a fall wreath using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Vault Foliage Wreath. She added it to a Distress Ink blended background, then added Distress Crackle Paste Opaque though the Bubble stencil. To finish her card, she added a Thanks sentiment from the Stampers Anonymous Abstract Florals set.

Emma created a project for Halloween and told the story of someone dreadfully wicked. She used a Square Etcetera Panel, covered with Collage Strips and Halloween Backdrops, before adding a Paper Doll Portrait, some Halloween ephemera and plenty of Distress Crackle Paste to create the texture.

Macarena used Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Texture Paste Black Opaque and heated it until it bubbled which added even more texture. She layered the tag with Simon Says Stamp Circle Quilt die and finished it with one of the lovely Brutus Monroe Bookworm Creative Cards.

Maura was inspired to make a gift card holder using Simon Says Stamp’s Highland Cows stamps, Simon Says Stamp Plaque Slides Christmas stamps and dies, Tim Holtz Sparkle Texture Paste, and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas Background paper.

Meihsia was inspired to create a mixed media Halloween tag using The Crafter’s Workshop LIGHT AND FLUFFY MODELING PASTE to create the texture on the background, and decorated it with Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps UNDERTAKER and Tim Holtz idea-ology 2024 Halloween Sticker Book.

Zoey used one of her favorite stencil and texture paste to add some grunge to this tag. She then used a combination of Distress Ink and Oxide for the background and decorated it with Die Cut Leaves and Ideaology Sticker Book

So now it’s YOUR turn to get out your inks, paints and all things arty and start creating! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
