YOU Make Me Smile
Hi readers! Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re having a fantastic week! It’s always fun to have Teri Anderson as a guest on our blog. I love her fresh take on design and bold use of color. I hope these cards inspire you like that did for me!
Enjoy!
Hi Simon friends! So good to see you again! I always enjoy stopping by! Flowers just have a way of making everything better so I cooked up a couple flower card to share with you today.
Both of these card were created with the Blooming Roses stamp set from My Favorite Things. The flowers in in this stamp set look really cool when you ink them up and stamp with them. But they also look cool when you want do something a little more artsy with them.
For both cards, I inked up the flowers (and leaves and stems) and then spritzed them with a little water before I stamped them. I love the artsy, messy look adding the water gives.
A Mini Mister bottle works great for adding just a light misting of water to your ink. Ink up your stamp and then mist a squirt of water on it. Be sure to hold the bottle 10″ to 12″ away. Hold it too close and the colors will really bleed.
Just for kicks, here’s how one of the stamps looked after I spritzed water on it. It’s not pretty, but the results will be will worth it. Trust me on this one.
And here are a few examples of the flowers stamped after I added the water to the ink. By the way, I put a little too much water on the one in the lower right hand corner, but I think I am going to hold onto it and use it on a project later.
