Yippee for Yana Cardmaking Feature

Hi everyone, this is Yana Smakula and I’m excited to bring you another episode from my by-monthly “Yippee For Yana” video series! In today’s video I’m showing how easy it is to turn outline stamped letters into solid with the help of a black Copic marker!

Outline Letters Into Solid With Copics

I started working on my card by stamping “Friend” using letters from the Stitched Alphabet set. I am a big fan of various alpha stamps and this set simply tops my list these days!

Next, I used Modern Anemones stamps from WPlus9 and added a floral design in the background. I didn’t mask the letters, only masked some of the flowers to be able to add additional stamped leaves a flower buds.

After my stamping was done I used a black Copic marker and colored in each of the letters. Because I planned to color them in right from the start I didn’t do any masking and allowed other images overlap them. The stamped lines that overlap the letters aren’t visible in real life (you might spot them in my photos, but that is only because I upped the contrast to help the design pop. but you can’t see those in real life).

Next, I colored flowers and leaves using grays, pinks and greens. I am not an expert when it comes to coloring using any medium, I certainly enjoy coloring, but I have yet to learn a lot so the coloring here is rather basic.

Once my coloring was done I adhered my panel onto an A2 card base and added a white heat embossed sentiment that together with the stamped “Friend” in the background reads “It takes a long time to grow and old friend”. Finally I embellished my card using Nuvo drops in Carnation Pink and Bubblegum Blush.

I hope you’ll give this a try. Have fun stamping!
