Studio Monday with Nina-Marie: Working with Multiple Mediums

Using Multiple Mediums

Hello crafty friends, and happy Monday; its Nina-Marie here with you today! This week I wanted to share how I love to combine multiple mediums together, as well as feature one of Simon’s newest stamp sets!

Studio Monday with Nina-Marie

I was really excited to have designed the Some Bunny Special stamp set and couldn’t wait to ink it up! I used many of the images in the set to make a custom scene with the help of some masking. Making scenes are a lot of fun because you can build them however you like and create unique layouts.

Using Multiple Mediums

Do you have multiple coloring mediums in your stash? I admit, I do! Being able to change things up and use different mediums is a great way to add a fresh feel to your cards. My next question for you is: have you ever used them together? I LOVE doing this! In this card, I used my Copic markers, Prismacolor colored pencils and a Zig Clean Color watercolor marker to color in the scene. Because all of these mediums creates their own unique effect, this allows me to showcase all of them all at once! I’ll be showing the coloring process in the video below. I also have the colors used listed below.

Using Multiple Mediums

The card base of this card was made with Desert Storm cardstock and stamped with a My Favorite Things background stamp. I also added a red matte behind my scene using Lipstick Red cardstock, which was die cut with the Eyelet Stitches die from Memory Box. To embellish the card, I used Spectrum Noir glitter pen and tied some bakers twine around the top.

Using Multiple Mediums

This card was a lot of fun to put together and I hope it has inspired you to try combining your coloring mediums together to create unique scenes. Be sure to check out the video to see how the card came together! Thanks for visiting me and I will see you again next week with a new Studio Monday video!
